Is Digital Really Better Than Analogue

Over the years I have used products that were analogue, B&W Televisions, VCRs, even TV reception VHF, then along comes the new kid on the block Digital, how can something new that boasts so much can be so inferior in other ways, TV I was able to watch all my shows regardless of weather (Except T/Storms) but now digital is here even on clear days the picture strobes into pixels and the sound carrier drops so you can't hear anything or it just freezes transmission, they don't seem to have ironed the bugs out of it so it really is inferior, Digital DVD recording can overload and lose all it's data for the slightest thing compared to video tape which use to twist but you could patch it up and still use it, just some of these comparisons.
