Something I Don't Get: Where Are We? in Proximity to God

Jesus says, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20) And again He says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20)
Why then do church-gatherings address Jesus as though He's somewhere far away? It's like walking up to your 'principal celebrant' (priest, pastor, what-have-you) and telling 'the area over his shoulder' to tell him hello!
(Especially in the Catholic Mass's 'transubstatiation,' turning the bread-&-wine into the body-&-blood of Jesus!)
How do you think Jesus feels about 'being talked about like He's NOT there among you'?
I'm sure there are many teachings you can answer this with---teachings that--since they come from the Bible--totally eliminate the teachings I cited ... which ALSO come from the Bible. That to me proves that either the Holy Bible is NOT the word of God (because the word of God is what YOU believe, and you'd rather believe the 'feel good'-letters of Jesus' students than the words of Jesus Himself),
or ... something judgmental about you ...
Maybe I'll ask (and they'll answer) at RCSpirituality's "Ask a Priest."

When you accept Jesus Christ as your lord and Savior. The holy spirit enters you. and he is with you always..... so when two or more gather he is present, and if you are alone he is present.
Most churches today are so lost..I do not think they know what they are teaching....That is why people need to start picking up their Bible and reading it.

Well, they think they know 'what they're teaching' ("For the ways of a man are right unto himself ..."), but they forget what they're looking-at (it's kinda 'forget reality & just step onto the water' ... sort of a double-edged idea there; on the one hand "with God, all things are possible," but on the other hand we must begin with the possibilities reality present ...
(i.e. if you touch the hot stove-top with your bare hand, it'll still burn you (whether you're looking at Jesus or Lucifer)).
You're right, but it's two different situations: he (The Father) is with us when we're alone, but He (our Lord, the Son) is with us as we teach/baptize in His name ("name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit" was added later by Tertullian).
It's like my friend Sandy: back in grade-school, he was one of my classmates; now he (practically) RUNS the Wal-mart where I do all my shopping. If I wanted to talk to him about selling some of 'my published writing' (imagining a land where I had 'gotten published' insted of getting on the Internet ), I wouldn't have to 'go back in time' and convince the kid Sandy that my stuff would sell.
However, I MIGHT use our grade-school friendship as an "in" to boost my 'reputation' with Ast. Manager Sandy. That's sort of what "Jesus' blood" does for us; His blood 'dyes our spirit' (or "stains" it, but in a good way ... like 'stained-glass windows') as we teach the Gospel He taught, and 'Jesus the Father' sees that stain & remembers what we'll do for Him & hears it as if from 'an old friend.'

@dlr297 And the Care Bears live in the Cloud Castle ... that has as much to do with reality as Rack Shack & Benny do.

@mythociate Care bears have nothing to do with anything...... When you are faced with the truth.of Gods words you turn to care bears...and make fun of the 3 Jesus saved from being burned in the furnace.....

Yeah, but Christians get drawn into a whole end-times prophecy nightmare, forgetting that the only 'prophecies' that matter are the ones that surround Buddhas' Teachings (and yes, Jesus is a Buddha)

@cupkitties Yes, yes I am. Buddha is a title (like President, like Lord, like King).

Maybe they think of him not being there in the physical sense but, much in the way people say they'll always be there in your heart when they're actually far away.
