Fasting is really bad for you and won't help you lose weight in the long run at all. When you fast your body goes into starvation mode and will refuse to lose. It's best to lose weight slowly if you wish to take it off.
By the way, I was recently forced to fast for a week, due to a blockage. I couldn't get food down because of this and had to have surgery in order to remove it. Amazingly, I only lost 1 pound and regained the weight within 3 days. Fasting is just not worth it.
I can recommend the Southbeach diet. It's a good healthy way of eating that does have rapid weight loss the first week or two and then slow, but steady weight loss after that. They have an online website www.southbeachonline.com or you can just simply go out and buy the book.

A lot of energy is spent during the fast in the process of eliminating accumulated poisons and toxic waste materials. It is, therfore, of utmost importance that the patients gets as much physical rest and mental relaxation as possible during the fast. IN cases of fasts in which fruit
juices are taken, especially when fresh grapes, oranges or grapefruit are used exclusively, the toxic wastes enter the blood -stream rapidly, resulting in an overload of toxic matter, which affects normal bodily functions. This often results in dizzy spells, followed by diarrhoea and vomiting. If this physical reaction persists, it is visable to ontinue the fast and take cooked vegetables containing adequate roughage such as spinach and beets until the body functioning returns to normal.

Don't do it!!!!
Fasting for a prolonger period of time is the same thing as anorexia.
When you fast, you are starving your body. Period.
Yes, your body will begin to burn fat only because you are not supplying
the calories that it needs. You are teaching your body!
When your body is taught that you periodically strave yourself, it learns to use less calories and store it for the next time you decide to fast...or starve it.
It is okay to reduce your calorie intake enough to get your body to burn more.
But the best way to boost up your metaboism is to talk a brisk walk after eating. This will tell your body that it needs to be used, and not stored.
Eating is very important. And unless for spiritual reasons, please do not fast.

fasting is a great way to detoxify your body. however you need to keep electrolites and proteins moving through your body.....
if you are thinking of doing a fast, make sure you substitute real meals with something like juices. and only for a day or two. it can be very dangerous to continue a fast for more than that, it can also be unbeneficial to you in that the longer you deprive your body of food the more your body holds onto the fat it already has accumulated. and that really throws your metabolism out of wack..

I think u need to sick a good nutricionist. The only place good for bones is the cemetery... is there where do u wanna end with this paranoia? Ur too thin .... and too thin is ugly!! Dont u ear the news... not even the model agencys are accepting too thin girls! duh!!

You should better look for low-fat food and to exercise. Fast walking is very good for start,it burns a lot calories. Try to eat in small amounts but very often, the diference between your small meals shouldn't be longer than three hours, or even less. And try not to eat after 7 o'clock PM, if possible, after 6.

If you mean you will stop eating for a while...
Do NOT do this... it is very bad for your health. You will feel weak because you do not get vitamins in your body...

fasting is not a good idea!!
you can screw up your metabolism and will lose muscle before you lose fat. Sure you'll lose some weight, but it won;t be the right weight to lose nor will it be healthy.
Best thing to do is to reduce your calorie intake, and exercise more. You need to burn more energy than you eat :)

I fasted for 7 days and did organic lemon juice drink and cayanne pepper for most meals...tip: use the capsules LOL
It does work. However, you should go with a light diet for a couple days prior to fasting. And follow a light diet when the fast is over for a couple days also. If you follow the steps correctly, you can lose over 20 pounds in 7 days.
