Hi again, how are you? The thing that gets me out of a depressed mood is going to see my chooks. I sit on the bench in their run and watch them peck and scratch around. I have to young ones now and they are so cute. One of the older chooks has become a mum to them and its amazing to watch her teaching them all the chooky things! Another thing is that I like to watch something funny like "Little Britain" or "The League of Gentlemen". I certainly do feel better after I've had a side-splitting laugh! Hope you have a good day. Hey there - I am hanging in since I am home alone with our youngest who's sick as all the rest of the family is off spending Thanksgiving together. I so agree with watching something funny too!!!! Nothing like a great laugh!!!! Hope you are having a Fantastic Thanksgiving!!!!

Helping other people helps me to feel better when I feel depressed, but so does a good cry sometimes! Exercise helps too...

The problem with depression is that it makes you feel like you have no energy. Even getting out of bed can take a monumental effort, so it may be hard to imagine exercising at all when you're depressed. No matter what your thoughts are telling you, it really is possible to exercise when you're depressed.
I take simple steps whenever i feel depressed, it does not happens often though. Trying "Yoga" is the best option, it can help you relax your whole body, including mind. Besides that i visit the place i love to be, that also gives me a big happiness being alone and safe. Nature is something that grabs you in his magic, it can relieve all your stress in a minute.

Boy you hit that one right - being depressed does suck the energy right out of you!!! And it is extremely hard to get what you need to get done when you feel this way!!! I have heard that Yoga can really be a relaxing way to calm yourself!!! And nature - boy you are right about that one - nothing like taking a nice walk looking at all the beautiful things around you!!!

That is always hard for me - figuring out why. But I really like the idea of hanging out with people that love & care about me as well as understand - and an activity like hiking sounds really enticing!!!! Nothing like a good adventure while relaxing!!! Thanx so much for responding!!!

I don't really get depressed, but when I am feeling a little down, I will eat Nerds and life seems to be better. Odd.

Well lucky u that u don't get down very often at all!!!! And when you do - reach for that box of Nerds to get u right through that icky feeling!!! Sounds kinda yummy to me!!! lol

Putting on some loud music and 30 minutes on the treadmill will usually adjust my attitude. If I go out when I'm in "a mood" as you do, I will most likely find myself getting more irritated than ever. I need to get myself back on track before I can face people and be civil!

Hey there and now I am all for that - nothing like blasting some tunes while running off that bad energy!!! And you are so right - if the bad mood is out then it's time to find a way to get it out of you before heading back out the door!!!

That is a great idea - I only wish I lived in an area where it was really easy to meet lots of friends - but it's been difficult where we live because there aren't many people that I have things in common with. But I do have to say that I sure try as often as possible!!!!

Well I tend to have to agree with you on that one!!!! Nothing like some really good food to pull you back up!!! And it could be anything from a sweet sundae to a loaded pizza - just keep it coming!!!! Hope you have a Fantastic Friday!!!

Oh yes you are so right - listening to some of your favorite tunes or listening and talking to those who love and care for you can really get you back up into the swing of things!! And yes shopping can do wonders - as long as you have the dough to spend!!!!

My daughter always brings me out of a depressed mood. She is almost 22 months old and loves to make people laugh. It seems like whenever I am depressed she will always do something to put a smile on my face. The innocense of children is the greatest thing.

I so agree with you that the innocence of children is awesome!!!! And yes their laughter can pull u right out of that down mood!!!! I will go out the house and go for a ride go to the store,visit a friend or family.Sometimes talking on the phone to my close friends will help or i will just listen to my favorite songs.

I normally put on a game that relieves stress like fighting games such as Tekken. Pretend your oppenent is whatever's stressing you out and vala!:D If I don't want to do that then alone time with my favourite tunes never fails:D
