MN Vikings Fans! Do you think Brad Johnson needs to be benched? Why or why not?

I think it is a very tough decision. Once Bollinger takes over, unless it is due to an injury, I think he needs to stay in. I think Childress is right in not benching Johnson yet, but if we (as a Vikings fan I consider myself part of the team win or lose) don't start winning some games...it maybe time to start grooming Bollinger for next season. Not that this season is completely lost, yet. But even if we make it to the playoffs...it's unlikely we would advance past the first round.

See I think they should bench Brad and put in Tavaris Jackson... I think he needs a chance to prove himself. Like some of my relatives said today, the Vikes have gotten proficient in losing - what is up with that?

Excellent point. Look toward the future is a problem the Vikes seem to have. For example, giving away half the team to the Dallas Cowboys so we could get Herschel Walker. Even if Walker had turned out to be a half decent back, it still wouldn't have been worth it. Warren Moon was great, but aged out. Randall Cunningham steered us into a Super Bowl, but aged out. Archie Manning, Jim McMahon, etc etc etc. I should shut up now. At this rate, Brett Favre will be our starter next year.

I meant Cunningham ALMOST steered us into a Super Bowl. Denny Green grabbed the steering wheel at the last second and sent us off a cliff.

Ewww... I wouldn't want Brett Farve.. he was an awesome Qback but now he is getting old. They seem to have this thing for taking a young guy.. giving him a chance.. and them doing well for a year.. but not being a "lifer". It is just frustrating! And Brad was also great.. but again.. he is getting old.
