So this was how my night went

United States
July 27, 2015 6:47am CST
I was rushing to get done so that I could leave at 6 am. In doing so, I dropped a bottle of gatorade and it went everywhere. I cleaned that up. Then I spilled two more bottles right after (in the same spot). After cleaning that up I walked over to get a cone to put on the floor, and a bottle of taco sauce fell onto the floor and shattered. After all of that, I was carrying a pallet to the back and almost slipped and fell on a slippery spot (a coworker dropped something). Yeah... So that's what happens when I try to rush. I still got out on time, mind!

Sounds like you are the poster girl for the phrase 'Haste makes waste!'. Glad you are still able to leave your work on time.

Yes when I hurry I usually end up having to slow down...

Worst spill I ever saw, a kid ran a cart into a pyramid display of cooking oil in front of the check outs. That was something like forty years ago. Second worst was seeing a plastic bottle of catsup bounce and break. I am glad you still made it out on time. Made me tired reading it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum If the store does not have clean up kits they are waiting for lawsuits to happen from slip and fall injuries.

@GardenGerty We have mop buckets and brooms, we have chemicals. We just don't have the stuff that is supposed to clump the spill and make it faster to clean up. We have protocols for spill clean up as well. At night we don't follow them because it's just us, we will hollar that there is a spill and to be careful though. When the store opens up and we have spilled something we get one of our co-workers to stand by it while we get a cone and mop bucket.

I gave a frustrated noise when it all happened and I hear "Amber are you ok?" from a co-worker. We don't have that powder that is supposed to make it easy to clean stuff up. I know that cat liter can do the same but we don't have that either. I mean, we carry it as an item to sell, but we don't use it for spills. I was trying to avoid taking a cab home.

sounds like my day yesterday. except my mishaps all happened at the start of my day, leaving me wondering "how much worse could it get?". I was breaking down a pallet of product at my store, and the back side gave way and a whole stack of cases fell over and smashed to the ground. Most of them were glass bottles of a nasty smelling "health food" drink called Kambucha? (or something similar)..... Luckily i was in the back stock room and not on the sales floor, but there were still lots of people (employees/vendors) around so i did my best to contain my urge to yell some VERY un-lady like words...and instead stepped back and yelled "I LOVE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!" with lots and lots of enthusiasm...LOL...i even got applauded for my restraint while venting my frustration.....LOL

That is what they call a bad day. When one thing happens other things follow. It is the domino effect.

When it rains it pours. That's how I felt last night but I got through it unscathed, just aggravated.

@ScribbledAdNauseum it happens. As long as you got through that rough patch.
