The annoyance of match making parents

*sigh* If my parents were actually good judges of character, I might be interested, but they are not. Their idea of a good man is a bumbling idiot who I can take advantage of. No thanks. I'd really rather they ask than play these games. They act like I'm stupid and don't know what they're trying to do.

Did not know match making is on in the US. I thought you chose who you want to marry.

Parents still try to interfere and tell you who you can and can't marry. Forced marriages also exists here on some level even though it's not legal.

@cupkitties I saw a documentary before I forgot what cultureit is and I think its in asia, the men needs to kidnap the women who they want and marry them by force.

Parents will always be parents. My mother, not my father, always tried to be way too over protective. That in itself became a hindrance and annoying. But now I have kids of my own. Although my daughter is not at the age of dating, I do worry about when that does happen. My son right now is not looking to date anyone. Okay, he os only 14. But he he right at that point. We never want our children to be taken advantage of.
