How do you work this thing?

Yeah, no, seriously........so it's weird, I come here to myLot, and the funny thing is I can't see the little pencil thingy to start a new discussion. So what I have to do is shrink my screen to 90%.......THEN I can click on the pencil. But wait! That's not all.......I keep seeing "So-and-so is following you"......cool.........but when I click on somebody's profile page..........remember back in the day when we could customize our profile pages with graphics and cool pictures and stuff?........sorry........I digress........when I click on somebody's profile I don't see any link to follow them, or be their friend, or hook up or whatever. What am I doing wrong? Have I forgotten how to computer? And before somebody screams "TURN YOUR AD-BLOCK OFF DUMMY!"....It's off.........I'm looking at a Jimmy Dean Pancakes & Sausage ad right now. I don't know...........Remember when they had Categories up at the top and you could pick what you wanted to talk about and there was pictures of puppies and rainbows and.............anyways, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.......I wish I could click on stuff. Anyways, I included a picture of the corner of my screen, where the pencil thingy should be, before I shrink it to 90%
