Thoughts on Planned Parenthood Recently?

Hey guys,
This is my first real post here, so thank you for reading! I apologize if this post is a bit controversial, but I don't know a lot of people who keep up with current events. I'm a bit of a news junkie.. I read a lot of alternative media (RT, DrudgeReport, AntiWar.com, etc), as well as following the bigger networks (CNN, FOX, etc). Recently I've been reading a LOT about planned parenthood, and their recent scandal. The details of the scandal are a bit graphic, so consider this a warning if you have a sensitive stomach...
Alright, so recently several videos were released of Planned Parenthood employees who were harvesting organs from aborted fetuses, and selling them on the black market. The ones that I saw were mainly being sold to companies that were doing scientific research. My first reaction, of course, was to be completely disgusted and horrified.. which I still am, I guess.
But that got me thinking about the debates that were raised during the Bush Administration about stem cell research. What do you think about this topic? On one hand, stem cell research could potentially help a lot of people who are paralyzed, or have other health issues. On the other hand, the thought of harvesting unborn children for scientific purposes can be seen as incredibly unethical.
Additionally, do you feel that because of this scandal, planned parenthood should still receive state and federal funding? Should changes be made to Planned Parenthood, or should the organization be disbanded entirely?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions.

Well, stealing organs from fetuses and selling them on the black market is totally wrong. However, using them for actual stem cell research I feel is an asset to human life. I always believed that women have the right to choose if they will abort or not. No one should stand in their way of this choice. After all, they are the ones carrying. Should the government continue to fund it? Yes, of course they should. If things were done the correct way, there would never be a problem.

Yeah I agree, it's pretty messed up. I'm not really sure who the buyers were though, it seemed like most of them were large companies that were doing research, but then again, I'm not really 100% sure.

@Number_Z3r0 Well, either way. I do believe women should have that right to choose. And the federal government should finance stem cell research. Without a doubt.

I am technically pro-choice as I feel the choice to have an abortion is going to end up coming down to being between the woman and God. That being said, I wished Planned Parenthood wasn't the option women had. I think they are involved in shady dealings and need to be investigated.

Yeah I agree, it's up to the couple to decide. I personally would not want my girlfriend or wife to get one, but I understand that some people have it a lot worse than I do, and sometimes for the sake of the kid, it's for the best.
