I have different user names for different sites. I even have different profile pictures. This has not interfered with my interaction anywhere. In fact it has helped me.
What is your view about the benefits or otherwise of using different user names.

Sometimes people get bored connecting with the good old and so when they seen a new name they just want to relate.

@allknowing I never saw it that way. I like my user name and I will always use it. Everywhere that is.

I have, for the most part, used the same user name on most other sites that I use here unless the other site has a protocol that requires I do something different. There is one site that I completely changed my identity to sign up for it but I think I will save that story for another time.

I also use different usernames on different sites but mostly jenny1015. I thought of changing it here, but decided that I wanted to get reconnected with my old, friends and by keeping my old username, it would be easier to interact with them.

I will not change the username for the same site but will when it comes to different sites. It has helped me somewhat

This is the only site on which I disguised myself with a totally different user name than I use on other sites. On most sites I'm either barbsbooks or BarbRad. I'm leaning more toward having the same user name everywhere now, but it's not that easy to change them on most sites. I like the idea of being recognized by my friends no matter which sites I join.

I have different usernames throughout all my sites. This really starts bothering me.When you sign off,you have to think, think really hard, what is my username on this site or application.Ahhhh,NO.How about this?Still nope. This one? Finally!See,you now can image how horrible for me to have all kinds of different usernames.

Get a small notebook and make a list. I had to do to do that when my debit card got hacked from an online telemarketer. I decided that keeping my passwords in a password filler on the computer was a bad idea so I made a list of all the sites I'm signed up for and wrote them down then deleted the password filler. Then I proceeded to change all the passwords to sensitive information like banking or government sites but I left the social sites and mystery shopping companies with the same passwords. I carry this book with me everywhere I go so no one can get their hands on it.
