I think introductions are in order

I became a member about seven years ago. I had to find other sites where I could make extra money so I left this one behind when it quit paying us for the work we did here. I reached pay out several times. Enjoy many discussions. I recall a lot of characters I met here. Sort of kept up with them some on Facebook.
I thought it might be nice to introduce ourselves.
I am retired and disabled due to severe depression and panic attacks. I live with my daughter and grandson. He has ODD and my daughter has a slight learning disability and is bi-polar. She asked me to live here with her and help her to raise her son. It has it's moments believe me. But family comes first and I will do whatever I can to help her raise him. He is a handful. He has been pretty good lately. I was pleasantly surprised that the summer went as well as it did.
I love to write. Have been doing it since I learned to put letters together to make words. No special training. My BFF introduced me to Sci-fi(Andre Norton and Edgar Rice Burroughs) but I like most genres. I have published many articles online on E-how, Helium, here, several others including Bubblews. I write some freelance now but not consistently. I have written some short stories but haven't tried to publish them.
How about you? Are you just doing this for some extra money or do you love to write too?

Hi, celticeagle, I used to love myLot and then the format changed, so it wasn't just about the little bit of money they used to pay, although that did make it more fun. I was married 40 years to the same wonderful guy who passed about 5 years ago, and when he was with us still he got a kick out of myLot stories that I shared and also if something newsworthy happened to us or if I took a photo, he would often ask if I remembered to share that on myLot. I don't know how active I will be able to be on here now that it is back, but before it was really addictive and probably will be again!

Yes, it is very addictive. Hope to see you around a lot. Sorry to hear of your husband. He sounds like he was a good one to be sure.

Good to see you back here. I also love writing, and in the last two years I've got to the stage where I am actually earning a living from it. I run a website, write for some English speaking expat sites and magazines in Spain, and also ghost write non-fiction books for an American publisher, as well as editing work. Not enough hours in the day for my writing work these days. I'm back in here to catch up with former myLot friends and relax for a while each day.

So you have experienced the ins and outs of publishing. Great! I may have to pick your brain at some point. We are a great group of people, aren't we? Hope you enjoy your experiences here.

Hi, I am Dawnwriter (I was Justascribbler on Bubblews). I can see many familiar faces here . I just joined a couple of days ago and still finding my feet but the site looks good and the fact that there are so many familiar people here makes me very happy.
I love to write too and I love reading what other people have to say. Have a great day.

Hi, I am a really old timer. MyLot was my first online site and I am so glad to be back and seeing my friends. It is easier to make friends for me online. I like to communicate, have done some freelance writing, but not so much right now. I like challenge type posts, which I do on the bubble site.

Well I learned from a different site that this site was paying again so I though I would join .. and discovered I already belong! I must have joined a few years ago and forgotten. I'm off on holiday tomorrow but hopefully I will be posting when I get back.

I write on several and if I am able to spend some time on them can make a fair amount of money. It just seems like life keeps getting in the way.

I do this because I love to write and enjoy discussions while getting some extra cash.
I used to not come here regularly because I didn't bother much with earning extra. I only posted when I felt like it and just had fun discussing things with other people. But then, before they stopped paying, I wasn't even able to get the 2nd $ amt that had accumulated. I don't even remember how much that was but since I wasn't a regular myLotter even then I don't think it even reached $10.

@bunnybon7 So sad. I hope she will grow tired of him in time. She'll need your help to get away from him then. My daughter has been with one for about seven or eight years. He drives me crazy. My daughter just goes with the flow.

actually most here know me. I am the complainer of my health. lol. I am still living with my oldest son. still have my youngest daughter living here with her boyfriend at times. she comes a while, then leaves when he gets to where we can't stand him another minute. she won't rid herself of him. what else should i say? its usually what i write about. the whoas of living with adult children in your old age.

My life has been boring, so nothing really to tell, except I am divorced for eight years. It hasn't always been easy living alone, especially when things need fixing around here. I can't afford to hire anyone, as that costs to much. I will probably get my son to fix things that need taken care of. Anyway, I have two children, and six grandchildren, five grandsons and one granddaughter. I don't see my daughter, as she lives in Missouri, and I live in Oregon. I do talk to her everyday though. My son lives about twenty miles from me.

That is too bad that your daughter lives so far away. it must be nice to talk to her each however. Sounds like you need to join a group or find a hobby.

I do remember you talking about this in our 'myLot days'. Your daughter needs you and it must be gratifying for you to know that you are an asset around

I love to write. Like you, I've been doing it as long as I can remember. Except for my husband and a brother who lives far away, I have no family left. I've been married for 51 years. I am an avid reader and can't seem to stop reading when I get on a book binge.

@celticeagle I think that would be much harder -- getting used to four different husbands. I'm pretty fond of the one I have. I think I'll keep him as long as possible.
