Why do women's jeans not have pockets??

Seriously what's up with this? I can never find a pair of pants that actually have pockets that allow me to fit anything more than a penny or a stick of gum in them. This basically forces me to buy a purse. Well, I refuse to call mine a purse because it's technically a satchel and I feel like I'm too low maintenance to throw that word around. But whatever. It's awful. I'm pretty much convinced women's jean manufacturers are in cahoots with purse companies. NOT COOL.
