My mother

I wish I was just a fraction of what my mother was. I sometimes wonder what stuff she was made of that there were people seeking shelter in her home First it was father's cousin who was homeless and she took her in. She was very dominating and mother put up with it all. Then came our neighbour who was alone and needed some home. My mother took her in. We had two cousins with bad marriages each one took their turn to be with us. And lastly her eldest son came with his brood. This brother of ours had a bad temper but his wife and my mother got along like a house on fire I miss my mother and her endearing ways.

First, I'm not sure how recently you lost your mother, but my condolences to you and your family. It sounds like your Mother was a very strong and caring woman. Your mother was very generous and sounds like she gave alot to take care of those in need. That is very commendable. I don't know you personally but don't put yourself down, I'm sure faced with a situation where you needed to show the same strength and selflessness you could and would find it within yourself to show many of the same qualities. Thank you for sharing with us a small part of the story of your mom and her love for others. Tonight I will say a prayer in your mothers honor for all the good things that she did for those around her.

I have a fraction of it too. I have a Trust that reaches out to the needy. I love animals and nature and all this has come from my dear mother. I lost my mother a few years ago.

@allknowing sorry to hear that, I'm blessed in that I still have both my parents even if I only get to see my Dad once or twice a year if I'm lucky. Again I want to say sorry for your loss, it sounds like she was a great woman and it sounds like you did gain many positive qualities from her.

I am thankful for the contributions each of my parents made to my personality. I know you have some charities you support and orphans, and I know you follow your mother's example.

Our moms will always be the greatest. The only person that we know who has that nurturing trait all the time.
