So by now I assume most people are aware of the Adrian Peterson child abuse saga and that he plead guilty last fall to a lesser charge and got a $4000 fine, 80 hours of community service, and two years of probation. Earlier this evening it was just made public that after just nine months he has filed for and was granted a termination of the remainder of his probation.
As a Minnesota Vikings fan I have always been a stead fast supporter of Adrian Peterson but even I'm kind of taken aback by the fact that he's not even being made to finish the sentence he was given for a crime he has plead guilty to. Granted I understand people get parole and what not all the time but after the huge deal everyone made out of this case I guess I just dint understand.
With that said I'm not sure if this saga is even over. The district attorney has said they plan to file an appeal however by my understanding they had forty eight hours after the judge terminated his probation to contest it and they did not. So who knows really what's going to happen going forward but I for one hope we've almost reached the end of this tale.
What's your opinion of this situation? Do you think he got off too easy or do you understand his position?
