Years ago you never saw me home on a weekend, always would be out dancing and flirting. Now i sit at home growing old wondering what happened?..Did i change? Did people Change? What does a person have to do to get noticed anymore?..ok i'm not in my 20's or 30's, 40's or 50's, but i am alive. That must count for something! or am i just chasing rainbows or eating too many brownies?

some well-meaning people here will suggest being more active in church if you're single/widowed/mature age - until you witness the petty squabbles, gossiping, factions, competition. uh, no thanks!

It depends. Going out dancing and flirting are fun to do, but for some that is all they do for fun and one day they realize that they have no real balance in life, no hobbies or passion. I, of course, don't know if you changed or not but perhaps you have gotten to a point in life where where you want something more. Maybe take up a new hobby, travel the world or start a business for fun??
My rambling aside, you have gotten noticed by us here so there's that... (~_^)

@Rosekitty I figure the more I stay home, the less I will want to spend money, and that is a good thing. i do enjoy staying home and coming in here.

You know if I lived closer we would find some brownie-eating activity to do or something. Leave going out to the younglings.

Call me crazy but I don't mind being home on a Friday night (we used to be out on Fridays night too). But I have kids and Hubby here - we're all always running around somewhere during the day - I just want to be at home. Maybe I'm not crazy - just getting older - ha ha.

We have to make room for the younger generation to be there where we were once upon a time. That's how it is as per my belief. I too am a senior and prefer staying home and tending to my garden, house and pets. There are so many activities other than this that keep me merrily on my toes.
Finally to each their own. If you still feel you need to do what you did in your younger days there are clubs for seniors where you can join and I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

We don't have the same drive as we once did. We also do not have the same stamina as we once did. I know what you mean. I feel the same exact way. Sadly enough, the clubs I used to go to back in the day are all gone now. But we can create our own new entertainment if we choose.
