Straight late night sleeping for me these days because of my work schedule and a lot of happenings like birthday celebration of friends in the community and also a coffee time or break with my girl friends and I went to bed almost 3 am yet I woke up 11am in the morning yet I still feel sleeping that's why I make black coffee in the morning to refresh me and to wake me up.
I was wondering because my Mom said that I should not always sleep late at night or dawn time because it will affect my health later. What do you think of this guys? Can you share some insights and ideas?

I try to be in bed by 1 or 2 AM, but I normally have the freedom to sleep as late as I need to, so I normally get up about 9 or 10 AM. I seem to do OK with that. When I was in college and a newly wed, I burned the candle at both ends and stayed up way too late on weekends. That may be part of the reason I'm not as healthy as I could be now. We don't realize the effect of abusing our bodies in our youth until we get older and have the degenerative diseases.

I too stayed up way too late while in university so I'm not sure what that did to me, but I'm in bed by ten now... so I'm making up for it. Sorry, if I'm doing this incorrectly. Just arrived.

It is the same with me, Earlier I used to stay up late until early hours of morning during weekends and wake up without enough sleep since I had to look after the children, cook etc ..So I used to get a headache and feel grouchy the whole day.I feel that having a routine works much better - sleep by 12 and wake up by 7 or 8 suits me best !

I do not sleep well at all. You can find me early hours on the computer with the TV on but that is not good. Our body does need its rest but how much you need is an individual thing. Good luck with finding your perfect sleep time.

The expert advice used to be that we should sleep at least two hours before midnight and get eight hours sleep. So many people work shifts around that clock that this is almost impossible.

Your Mom is right. It is better to sleep on time and get enough sleep. I know sleeping late is bad for it weakens your liver.
