Hello there ! I don't know if this is the right place where I can open up about my feelings and seek advice. I wish that I have friends who are willing to actually listen and give me a genuine advice but no, they just listen but doesn't actually care. College really changed me. I used to be a very friendly and cheerful person. I used to smile a lot when i am around people. I used to have a very positive outlook in life, but it all changed when I started college. My first or second year wasn't actually depressing. The depression started during the third year. I have a really terrible mood swings. One day i am happy, and then the next day I am starting to feel depression. It's never ending cycle, and it feels terrible. It slowly kills me.

It sounds like you are over powered by too much school right now. have you taken any time off to get to know yourself?..or is this college thing something you have been pushed into?..You are very stressed and emotional which brings on depression, so if you aren't really into school anymore, i'd drop out or not go back till it feels right again..

As you gather a following here you will find it a safe and nurturing place to express yourself. No worries there. As for the problem you have described in this post, it has me a little worried. If it were me, I'd be going to my doctor for advice as soon as possible. I hope you do. Let us know how you get on...

There will really comes a point in our life that we would feel downhearted. This can be due to some reasons beyond our control. Think of it as a temporary thing and will soon pass. Everything will change. Focused on your goals instead on the obstacles. Have a great day!

I'm in my final year of college, and I kind of understand what you're going through. Is it the weight of others' expectations that is pulling you down? Or the uncertainty of the future? Just try and remember that your first responsibility is to yourself. And I appreciate that you want to finish what you start, and its a good habit. And besides, a college degree is always useful, even if you don't use it. So don't think that just because you've invested these years of your life in studying a discipline means that you have to make a career in it. College is all about finding out what you want from your life. It may not be what others want, but don't let that bother you. And if all of the above doesn't make sense to you, just remember what Bukowski said: Find what you love, and let it kill you. See if that doesn't lift your spirits.

Perhaps it may be because you're near completion and you may be stressing about having to go out into the real world? I remember I just couldn't wait for the very day I'd finally finish my school life - but as I got closer, it hit me that I will need to get my act together soon and actually do something with my life. Maybe, too, you need an outlet from this routine college life - something you can really enjoy to make you feel alive and motivated. This would also extend into the working world - everyone needs an outlet - life shouldn't only about the things you have to get done. Find the joy back in your life!
