Do you use your phone to post discussions?

I have had an iphone 6 plus, so I thought I would try to start a discussion. It seems to work okay, but I do have to zoom out so that I can see the start a discussion tab. I thought I would try it so I can watch Netflix while posting, and the fact there is a built in keyboard, makes it even better. I am sitting in my easy chair, while doing this, and I am really having fun doing so. Now that I know it works, I am going to post more using my phone. Sure it is smaller, but using it in lNdscape mode, makes it much easier. Everyone take care, and have fun mylotting.

I find that I can use both my 7" tablet and my phone quite successfully to read MyLot discussions. The current interface was actually designed with smart phones in mind.
Entering text is not so easy as it is with a PC and keyboard, though I do have a built-in speech-to-text function which works remarkably well and I also have a mini Bluetooth keyboard which works with my phone. I can respond, comment and post discussions fairly easily and would do so if nothing else were available.
MyLot is, however, a site which really requires one to do more than enter short comments or questions, so, for a number of reasons, it would be preferable to use a desktop or laptop with a normal sized screen, keyboard and mouse.

It is easier to use a laptop or pc that is for sure,. since the screen is bigger and I have an extra keyboard attached to the usb so I can use it instead of the laptop keyboard. i just put it on my lap and type away, which I am doing right now. I am glad that they have made it a little easier to use our phones though, as when I am not home, if I want to post then I will be able to. Thank you for responding, and take care.

@Asylum It can become daunting, but it does work, and I am happy about that. It is much easier on the laptop, that is for sure, as it does take time to get used to the small screen on the phone. I have posted on the ipad too, which is bigger than the iPhone, but still not as big as the laptop. I am jyust glad that I have options to choose from to post in here.

You are right that is isn't. use it mostly when I am not home, and I want to come in here. I do have to scroll alot with the phone, but it still does work. I have stgarted a few discussions using my iPhone, and I am glad I was able to do that, as I wasn't sure I could.

I can understand that, and I will do the same, while I am home as well. I do have an ipad that I can post on when I am lying in bed, which is much bigger than myh IPhome and it wor4ks well, too. I have had other phones that I wouldn't have even consideered using for this site, as they were so small, that it almost took a magnifigying glass to see what i was doing. The IPhone has landscape mode, where I can turn it and it makes everything bigger. Thank you for responding, and happy mylotting.

I haven't yet. but I think this might be an option i might like. especially since I can use my talk to text option and that would make it even faster than typing... as long as my phone doesn't mis-hear the words I have spoken. it's worth a try though. thanks for the idea!

@cynthiann It is cool, as you just say what you want to type and it types it for you, without typing errors too LOL. I used that feature last night to message a freind on facebook. it was so cool, however I did fumble my words a little bit, and it was tped the way I said it fumbles and all LOL. I imagine my friend thought I was drunk or something as it didn't really make a lot of sense at first, but i was able to correct myself. It does work great, and to tell you the truth, that is the first time I ever used it. I wanted to see if it works and it does.

I also have the talk to text reature on my IPhone, but I never have sued it. I guess I would rather type. I think in order to use the talk to text, it would have to be completely quiet, so that the words you are speaking will be heard well enough to post. I may just give it a try one of these times, as it would save me typintg, but then I really don't mind typing anyway. Thank you for responding, and happy mylotting.

My phone is a small Samsung. With stiffish fingers this would be impossible for me to do. Happy for you though!

@cynthiann You never know, unless you ask them. I just love my 5.5" screen, as it is better than the real winky screens that most phones have. I have to pinch zoom to see what i am doing, but that is okay, as it works great.

At one time i had a small phone too, and was naearly impossible to do this site let alone any other on it, so i just resorted to using my laptop. Now, that i have the IPhone though,. it is much easier than I thought it would be, and it has a 5.5'" screen which is a big screen for a smartphone, not to mention the biggest size screen I have ever used. Thank you for responding, and tale care/

I can certainly understand that, as techinically. they aren't meant to be used in that way, but since I text messagte my daughter, I figured it would work in here which is almost the same anyway. I am glad that it does work though, so I won't miss beding here when I am away from home. Thank you for responding, and happy mylotting.

@BillKasman You are right, but with all the smartphones out there, they can do more than just make calls and text. I use mine for more than that too, with all the apps I have on it. I use it everyday for more than just calling. Thank you for responding, and take care.

There are others that feel the same way you do, and that is fine. Phones aren't really Imeant to be used in that way, really, but I have a nice iphone 6 plus so I will use mine when I am not at home, so I don't miss coming in here. Thank you for responding and have a great day.

It can be hard to naviagate with the my iPhone, as I have to keep zooming in and out to do anything, but I think I have it down for the most part. With the landscape mode, it becomes easier to type as the keyboard is bigger, and I am less likely to make mistakes. Thank you for rsponding and have a great day.

I've posted replies on my Samsung, but I'm not going to be attempting to start any posts as it is slow typing from it.

I have the voice to text feature that i can use, but i typed this discussion instead. i know it would be eaiser to use the feature, but I watch tv while I am posting, and so unless it is quiet, I can't use it. I am not sure how well it would work anyway, but I might just try to use it one of these days. While I am home, I will use my laptop more than my phone to post. Thank you for responding, and have a great day.

I am only going to use it when I am not at home, as I use my laptop mostly. i did post this discussion on my smartphone though, and amazingly, it works pretty well. i do think though that it is easier to use our mobile devices onw that the site has changed, than before the changes were made. I think that is mayhbe why they have changed it like they have, as there might be some out there, that don't have a computer as all, so they would have to use their smartphone to post. thank you for responding, and have a great day.

I have been waiting for an app as well, but not sure they will ever have one, but then again, you never know. I think as time goes on though, since they have made changes to this site, that they just might consider it to be used for our mobiles as well. I will definitely use mine more that is for sure. In the meantime, I will just use my laptop, and post as much as I can, and comment back to those that have responded to my discussions. Thank you for responding, and take care.

I just use a laptop when posting articles online because I found harder to see the words when I use a mobile phone or ipod.

Yes, it can be difficutl, as I was having the same problem until I pinch zoomed in, and then I was able to see them better. That is the only way i can use it, as if it didn't have the pinch zoom, I would never be able to do it at all. Now, that I can use it, I won't miss coming in here, when I am out and about, as I enjoy my time in here immensely. Thank you for responding, and have a great day.

It certainly would be easier if they came out with a mobile version, but not sure they will. i think in general, most people would prefer therir pc or laptop to post, and I don't blame them as it is much easier and goes faster. i will do the same when I am home, but if i want to come in here while I am away, then I can use my IPhone and not miss any discussions, or my friends that I have made in here. Thank you for responding, and have a great day.

@kataomoi I agree that when you don't have the internet on a computer, than your next bet would be a smartphone. I am very happy with my iphone, and glad I can do lots with it. It is to expensive just for making and taking calls. Thank you for responding, and take care.

I haven't tried it on my iPhone 6 yet. My computer has been down for almost a week, so I've been using the laptop for all my writing and discussions.

It should do great since my 6 plus works fine, then that one will too. I thought I would try it to see if I could post this discussion, and I was pleased that I could do it. The only thing is I have to pinch zoom, but that is okay, as it works when I do that and I can see the whole screen. Thank you for responding, and have a great day.
