Why I love myLot!

Okay, so I still prefer the old layout. That's not why I love myLot!
I love it because of the way that we earn on here. As it states on their earnings program page: "myLot pays you for YOUR VALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS to our community."
That's one thing that I never did like about other site that I was on. Although the earnings were good (heck, who am I kidding, they were great for some members!) for a while, I felt like the interaction was forced upon at times. If you've been a member on there, I'm sure you know what I mean, especially when some members would complain about their earnings being low because so-and-so didn't reciprocate with them.
I also felt obligated sometimes as well. After all, I wasn't just there to interact, I was there to earn, just like most of the members that were there. I knew there was no possible way for me to do that though if I only focused on my own posts, so I focused more on responding to other members posts instead. So much so, that my own earnings were low (about $75 every 3 weeks at the most). But it was still better than anywhere else I had earned online, so I was happy.
Now that the earnings have dropped next to nothing, things feel a lot more tense on that site. It doesn't help that a lot of members have left. I myself have lost any incentive that I've once had on there, although I do still try to peek in from time to time.
However, with myLot it isn't that way at all. All you have to do is participate! Because of that, the atmosphere feels a lot more relaxed and at ease. Just as it should be.
PS Just a heads up for the newbies. You will NOT get rich on here (at least not moneywise), but you can have fun and earn a little something at the same time!

Other sites mostly seem to reward you only if you post an article and then get likes, views and comments on it. MyLot is (and always was) different. It recognises that the people who only respond to discussions are just as important as those who post them, so it's your activity here that matters as well as how others respond to your activity (with likes, responses, comments &c.).
People have often swore that it wasn't the earnings that kept them here, yet even those who were loudest in those claims quietly went somewhere else where the pickings were good. Quite frankly, I don't blame them one bit (and I went elsewhere too, though I was active here as well for reasons of my own). What is very noticeable, though, is that even though MyLot was still not paying, when the rumours said that it might do and that all the spam was being deleted, a great many came back with hope in their hearts and much rejoicing! I think that that says a lot about people's love for MyLot.
OK, everyone wants an incentive and the incentives that MyLot offers are clearly inextricably linked like the woodbine and the ivy, so that if one falls down, then the other does too but then, when it looks like MyLot is going to be its old self again (but with only the possibility of payment) people DO come back ... and the most important thing is that there are so many who, even after two years, are eager to join in a reunion!

I used to occasionally visit here in those two years and my visits would have been more frequent if my connections were there too.

I think we have a unique family on here. We may perhaps squabble, but that comes partly because we do not have the face to face interactions and partly because we are from all over the world and are also many ages. It is a joy to be back.

I know what site you're talking about. I surely don't miss people whining at me or me at them about interacting. Or seeing my notifications being spammed by the same person who happened to post all their 10 articles at once or those numb brains who don't read the rules : "Like for like" or actually managing to get out 10 articles only to make maybe a fraction of a fraction of a penny.

I love the idea of true interacting - none of the foo foo "here's a penny" (or a fraction of it) type of comments and posts. Honestly, I keep my toes in wherever I am, but eventually everyone is going to know who wins out best - and that's where the mass is gonna go. I'm just glad to be back in this community

It has been known to the community here that myLot payment is not what keeps them here but the wonderful global interaction, learning, sharing and making friends.

Even when there was no payment many members including me (although not regularly) came here. Payment is certainly an incentive.

I know the site you mean. I am still there though. I seem to be doing okay there. But MyLot was and still is the better site overall. No, we will not get rich but I am sure we will do better than other sites. Now, that said, I landed on that other site when MyLot stopped paying. And I have grown with them. I now have lots of posts invested there and I am not leaving. That was my number one site for a while. Now it notched down to number two. Why? Well, simple. MyLot is back. I am also on Persona Paper as well. They are not bad, but slow going there.

I will admit that I was one of those that dixdn't come back when they stopped paying. i realize that it might not be the right attitude to have, but like others in here, I do need extra money, so ever little bit helps. i know I won't get rich in here as I never have, but it has added up over time. I also know that some get disallusioned because it doesn't come fast enough and they leave as they feel it ism't worth it. Well, I am here to tell you that it might be a mere pittance, but it is worth it in the end, so just hang in there and you will see. Take care, and have a great day, and have fun.

@inertia4 I am glad that I didn't get rid of my account too, as i would have to start over, and I didn't want to have to do that. i think i did come in a few times, but never posted anything, as I would read discussions, and that was about all. I seriously considered deleting my account after they stopped paying, but then I figured if it changed again, and we got paid, then i would already have and account. Life is good now.

@rosekiss I left also when they stopped paying. But I never got rid of my account. I kept it. I would stop in here from time to time though. I am happy it is back and I do, like all the others, love the earnings. Yes, every little bit of money helps.

The problem is that newbies wants to get rich overnight so they should read your suggestion very carefully.
I understand your point that on the 'other site' you were able to mint money and your earnings were making you happy and satisfied. Moreover, you were not much interested in interacting with others.
Mylot is really more relaxing platform and user friendly than any other site. I am of the opinion that interaction not only enlightens us but help us connect with on line friends across the globe, which otherwise may not be easily possible. A user's post reveal a lot about him/her and you get a picture in your mind about that user.
Since I joined mylot I never liked any other site. I did not feel comfortable on any of the site. I may add here that I am well settled so earning was not a priority for me.

Frankly, I don't care about payment. It is just SO good to see and interact with old friends again. What other site (and no, FB is not applicable) is there with the atmosphere and loyalty of mylot.?

I just found out that they were paying again. This is the first site that I ever earned from. I am happy to be back. This layout is a big confusing. I can't seem to find anyone's individual posts so I am just going down the line on the home page.

@sacmom I have finally figured out how to get to each person's posts etc so now it is much easier to get around the site and hopefully visit all of my connections.

I love MyLot too, but do miss the earnings of the other place... forced intereaction or not. It actually helped pay some bills!

The old layout is only one of the things that I like about the site. I love the idea of designing my own profile. The sharing of ideas and interaction among the members was just lovable and worth the time. I owe a lot from myLot because this is the place where I discovered the best paying site I have now. myLot served as a gateway when I was just starting with my online journey some years back.Much as I would say, I learned so many worthwhile things from this site.

As silly as it may seem, that was one of the things I loved about the old layout as well. I loved that we could make them 'unique' so that they stood out. Not like now, where they are all the same! lol

I like the mylot way better too! Because all activity is counted, which to me makes things flow more smoothly...

I had started with the old mylot way back when, very soon after it first started up. I really enjoyed mylot, made lots of friends and a few bucks at the same time. Earnings went way down after awhile but then that didn't really matter. I haved learned about mylot starting back up again from our friend "Some Guy Typing", lol, he sure can come up with some names. Looking forward to exploring here now that its back up and running. Don't have much free time to learn the new site but will do my best. Would like to connect with some old friends.....

Hey there Polly! It's been forever since I've seen you! How have you been?
Even though I'm an old timer on here, I never saw the earnings high like that. The drop must have happened right before I joined. Because mine were always low. Unless you consider $5 a month high!
By the way, I agree, SGT sure can! lol
See you around!

I liked the original mylot format too as it seemed easier to navigate. The thing that I got tired over there was one you mentioned, people complaining about earnings. Yes, they stunk. But repeatedly posting about it tended to get annoying.

I missed the old MyLot. I love the discussion and response way of earning here too. I did leave because of the no more paying thing.. and I checked in very rarely from time to time. Found some peeps on FB to keep in touch. I enjoy the conversation here but without pay, even if it is a little, I can't afford to invest my time. So I'm glad they are paying and I will try to keep active here as much as possible and see how it goes... But I do have other sites that pay better and I should invest my time wisely and much of it will probably be going to them.

Reading this makes me wonder if that's why there's so much less spam here. People don't need to attract readers to their own discussions to earn. At Bubblews a lot of people were only interested in trying to get return traffic, or for a while some only wanted to send traffic to other websites.
