It's starting all over again...

or maybe it never stopped.
So, I was going through some responses on my post a little bit ago, when I noticed one in particular, that stuck out like a sore thumb. Were my eyes deceiving me? Or maybe it was déjà vu?
Nah, it was neither. It was a plagiarist!
You better believe that I captured a screen shot for proof! I added the image on here so you can see it for yourself.
I know this stuff happens and I've seen it happen here in the past. I just cannot believe that it is back...so soon.
Are these people so desperate for money that they are willing to cheat? Or do they not speak English and want to join in the fun?
Remember, plagiarists don't just copy discussions and post them as their own. They copy responses and comments as well, so be sure to keep an eye out for them and report them as soon as possible!
Because the last thing we need are members like this. We just got myLot back, I sure a heck do not want to lose it again!

The ability to delete any thread which is directly below yours is very handy, sometimes (mind you, it COULD make nonsense of a discussion occasionally). I believe (but am not certain) that, if you report a response and then delete it, @goaskalice can still see what you've reported and take appropriate action. So if, for example, someone posts a spammy comment to a response, the response owner can report and then delete the comment.

That is good to know, especially if GAA is able to still read it. I said the other day that I would report but not delete, because I thought the report would either also be deleted or be made invalid as GAA would not actually be able to see what we were trying to report.

It's never going to go away - here or anywhere else, as long as there are idiots who think they can earn without effort. We just gotta keep on top of it and report them when we see them - just like we used to.

The copy/paste restriction was done away with when MyLot changed to format and stopped paying mostly because it then allowed people to copy and paste their links. It may already be on the 'wants' list as something which should be restored, though I think that 100 or 200 would be a good post minimum to set.
@goaskalice - perhaps you'd like to confirm that this is already on the list?

Wow people already starting the same old thing all over again huh? Glad you got the screen shot. Perhaps they will stop the copy and paste because of this.

Just quoting @owlwings from above. "It may already be on the 'wants' list as something which should be restored".
Hopefully it will be. We sure need it @Shellyann36!

@sacmom Amusingly enough, just after responding to this post I encountered a post by a new member that was simply a long string of the letter G. Even the title was just a line of Gs.
Needless to say I took great pleasure in reporting it.

@allen10187 reporting for plagiarist patrol duty!
Could it be possible that these are bots?

I am surprised and amused. But at the same time rather ashamed that the person who did this seems to be from my country.I am at a loss to understand why somebody would copy paste a response like this.

wow shocking eh
I Know it's not the same thing but i enter competitions & sometimes myself & others come across people who have stolen a pic from a website to enter a competition claiming the pic was their own, these pics are copyrights & obviously need permission to use from owner, but the people who steal them don't care all they want is to win the competition & receive a good prize..same as what you're talking about it's all about money money money..

I guess they can't come up with anything, so they take from others. That just isn't right. We take the time to post something that is our own, and someone else steals it. i hope that person gets blocked, or better yet, banned from mylot, as i agree, that we certainly don't need anything like that to happen now that mylot is back. It never seems to fail though, that it just takes one person to mess it up for all the rest. Go firgure. I think now, we will all be more vigilant and watch out for that person or anyone else that might think about trying the same thing. Take care, and have a great day.

@rosekiss Yep well i doubt anyone will be stealing anything from me, my grammar, punctuation isn't very good. I struggle to write in full English, takes me ages to reply.I'm used to writing in slang. Anyway thanks & you have a great day too.

I have also seen discussions that I was pretty sure were plagiarized, but when I searched them I could not find where they had been taken from. I understand that people are knowledgeable in different things and many have a very good grasp of English and grammar, but these discussions were more like scientific or medical journals than discussions. Also, we can't say why we are reporting them or give a link as to where they are plagiarized from, so maybe we don't have to worry so much about finding the link when we report them.
