I love Opera and Jazz. Two very different and distinct styles. Opera because it is so melodic and jazz because of the kinds of moods it expresses. Anyone else like either one of these or something very different?

Me too! Most of the music today, I cannot really understand the words or the lack of tunes. At least with Classical and Opera you can appreciate the beauty of the music.

I am definitely a fan of opera, and I particularly enjoy the music of Puccini or Verdi.
Despite this preference, there are many composers who have produced excellent operas and I have an excellent collection from Tchaikovsky to Saint Saens including recordings in a great variety of languages from Polish to French.
With the many different moods and styles of opera, there is always something available to suit the mood I am in at the time.

I like almost all music, except the two forms you listed, jazz and opera
