Thoughts about abortion?

I have always been against abortion, however since I was a young teen certain things have happened to me that have made me see things differently. I am now in love and have a man in my life that has made me see things extremely differently to how i used to. we are in no place to afford having a child and we also live with an alcoholic who is awake at all hours of the morning. I know that if i get pregnant i would have to have an abortion. what are every ones thoughts or experiences about or with abortion?

I feel adoption would always be an option, or don't get pregnant-use protection. There are always other ways other than killing a baby who doesn't deserve to die. The baby did nothing wrong and deserves a chance at life. I'm in a horrible situation right now, living with family and if I got pregnant I would never consider an abortion. If your responsible enough to make the child you should be responsible enough to care for the child.

would like to stress that i disagree. there are thousands of girls that are raped and fall pregnant. Their body is mature enough to conceive a child but its not their fault that they are pregnant, There would be girls who would keep the child but i would think that most girls would not like to keep a child in that situation. Don't know if you considered that.

@amysdimonds I was raped when I was 14 years old, my parents feared I would end up pregnant from it. And at that time I told my parents if I did get pregnant from that creep I was giving the baby up for adoption since I was too young to keep the child. Even at that age I was against abortion and I always will be.

Also, after having 2 miscarriages in my adult life I cannot imagine how anyone could purposely kill their child. Oh and rape wasn't mentioned in your post-it was you talking about getting pregnant and then getting an abortion because of the living situation your in. When I had my oldest we couldn't "afford" a child per se either but you make it work when you want to and have to.

I need to say that I knew someone who was on this side of the discussion, saying in the right circumstances she would abort. She changed her opinion after suffering three miscarriages. @amysdimonds I would say you must be careful not to get pregnant and work on improving your circumstances. You are right that you need your beliefs from a personal position, not something imposed on you in the name of religion.

Well, to be honest, I think it is very inhumane especially after hearing a doctor describe just what the different procedures are, and no anesthesia (for babe that is).. ghastly affair, and of course it's never been illegal if the mother's life is in danger. I lived through an abusive childhood and not wealthy, but I sure am glad to be here..

My idea is that every woman should be allowed to decide for herself. There are many reasons in favour or against it.
