Going to see Angkor Wat was not really my desire, I mean i never thought and have "dreamed" that I will go to see Angkor Wat, in fact, I didn't know much about the place. But when a good friend of mine told me that he will go to Angkor Wat, I thought hmmm.. why not know what this Wat is.
So I did some researches about the magnificent and majestic wat and the National Geographic via Youtube helped me a lot to see what is it offering to our present civilization.
I couldn't believe that these were made during the pre-industrial period when machinery were not even conceptualized.
Walking through their time thru youtube documentaries, brought me to their civilizations. That's why when we saw them.. we just sat outside the wats and mesmerized ourselves just looking at them.
See for yourself **wat by the means temple**

I visited Angkor Wat in 2012. My husband and I travelled around in Asia for 6 weeks, and we spent some time in Cambodia. We visited Bayon, Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, and two of the less wellknown temples. Our time in Siam Reap was limited, so we drove around by taxi. Our driver was a Chinese man who lives in Cambodia and he told us a bit about the temples.
Before our visit I read a lot about the temples and I had also seen photos in travel guide books and on the internet. It was really interesting to visit the temples in person, and we took lots of photos.

yeah there are still many hidden temples, i meant in the deep forest, some tourists who have time and money can go there, but we weren't able to see those temples because I don't have time anymore.
it's a nice place truly.

yes kiran.
on our first day to see how far siem reap to our place, we took a tuktuk (their local motorcycle taxi) for 15$ and saw the major wats (temples) Angkor Wat, Bayon and others, maybe around 7 wats, then on the second day we went back riding a bicycle because we were able to gauge that we can ride a bike going there and were able to find other temples. and so with the 3rd day we went on a bike ride going to the opposite direction, to see the other historical temples. it is worth go there.

@Mavic123456 So no way you can walk to these places, you need to have some kind of transport to get there.. I definitely would like to visit the place during December, I am told the weather is good, not too hot at that time !

yes, December is a nice and perfect timing .. but Asia is Asia it is still hot during daytime.
walk? no way they are too far from each other but you can take a ride (tuktuk) if you are bit lazy or hire an e motorbike for 10 usd but motorbike? they dont rent out to tourists.
but yes you will need a lot of walking in the wat(temples) and climb and down hahaha but then it is all worth it.
i suggest you watch the documentary about it before you go so you will not need a tourist guide that's expensive i think 25$ but if you are a group it is worth it also even the tuktuk ride.

Asia is a fascinating place. You're lucky to be able to travel and go sightseeing over there. Good pictures. I've been online looking at pictures of Siem Reap. All those countries have some of the world's most magnificent temples. Have you been to Vietnam?

yes, I went to Vietnam also and saw Halong Bay one of the wonders of the world, too. I was able to ride in kayak (courtesy of a gentleman from Canada) and see the underground caves there. amazing
back to Angkor Wat, there are still so many "magnificent" temples we were not able to explore because some are in the top of the mountain and trekking or tour trek is very expensive.
I invite you to see me and I will take you to Angkor Wat for free @deazil.

This is a very very nice historical place and slowly crumbling because these are 1000 years old already. so better see them before they totally vanish

Is that the place were they filmed the first mortal combat movie? because that's sure looks similar. Anyways, Cambodia is a great place with a lot of great ancient infrastructures. I've watch some documentary shows about this structures, I so envy you right now that you made to this place

@Letranknigh2015 you can still see this you are still young and we don't have problem with visa. it is visa on arrival. there are many cheap fares from Cebupacific so you can really go here... it should be "sooner" because the stones are already crumbling. Some archeologists are trying to put the pieces back like heavy and huge block jigsaw puzzle, still an amazement to witness
