Trees are know to improve air quality as they capture pollutants and toxic gasses. A single tree can capture 10 pounds of air pollutants in a year. Ground-level ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide and lead
In general the greater the tree cover the greater the pollution removal. Some also think that trees have a good effect on our mental health.

Even though I live in the 'flat' prairies, we do have trees. I have two huge blue spruce that must be over 100 years old and I dance under them all the time.

How true! When surrounded by trees and flowers I always feel so good.So the pollutant removal by trees must be one of the reasons.Apart from that being in touch with nature always gives us a sense of peace.

I love all the green stuff too. I have some plants in our house and they are happy as they are growing and I'm going to have tie them up or put them in bigger pots.

I always feel good with the atmosphere of trees. I don't really have large space for trees, but I try to plant some plants to give more positive air for my home. Unfortunately, people cut down more trees each day for the shake of business.

That is why most of the roads have tress and plants in the center or sideways because it releases oxygen. Not only that it makes the place beautiful. I too would like to be always surrounded by trees and plants but this is so rare if we are living in the city. We have to go to park to see beautiful trees and plants but i really hope that one day we dont have to go to park to be surrounded by trees.

@Butchcass4 I'm sure they help a bit, but obviously they can't absorb as much pollution as the big trees do.

You are right. I don't really buy flowers but I am thinking of doing it every now and again. Just a nice bunch of flowers to put in a vase somewhere around the house. Brighten the place up a bit.

@Daljinder HAHA! I don't eat any flowers. HEY speaking of, about 2 weeks ago, dad, nan and I saw these beautiful roses. They were multi-coloured. Like each petal was a mixture of colours. I had no idea how that was done.

lucky to have trees here around me.
This is what I kept on thinking about Thailand, to keep their environment sane as much as possible so they won't suffer the same catastrophe our country is always encountering.

I had no idea that trees do all that, that is awesome thanks so much for sharing. I personally love the green trees they make me feel good. I hate when the trees are bare. Thank God for the evergreen trees that we have in the winter.
