I am going out now to have dinner at the house of some friends of my parents. They lived in Venezuela for a long time and they love the regional food from there. So now, we are going there to eat some Arepas. It is like a bread that can be filled with ham, cheese, tuna or meat. It is really tasty and almost everyone loves it. Have you have heard about Arepas?

I speak Portuguese and they speak Spanish in Venezuela. But it is way too far. Portugal is in Europe and Venezuela is near Brazil.

@ACETY5 it has some similarities. but it is a different language. But if a spanish talks to a portuguese (slowly) we can understand most of it.

I have not heard about Arepas. However, I searched about it after reading your post. I understand it is a kind of sandwich in which you could have a variety of fillings ranging from cheese to avocado. I hope you will enjoy your dinner and you would remember while eating that you have posted a discussion on mylot about it. PS - I see you progressing well here on mylot. First day when I noticed you, your number of posts was 10 and now it is around 75. Keep the good work going.

No, I've never heard of that or any of Venezuelan food before. It looks like something similar to Turkey kebabs...

Hey! I am from Venezuela, the arepa is our typical dish is extremely delicious and the more filler has better, become grilled baked or fried and filled with anything you want for example: ham, cheese, mortadella, sausage, meat , chicken, fish, scrambled eggs, in short, everything you want. I leave a sample is also very easy to do ... and good appetite.
