I'm an art teacher so this discussion is very close to me. There are many school districts cutting art and music programs and I don't think that is a good thing. I'm not just saying that because it is my job. I am saying this because these are two activities where students use their minds in creative and fun ways. It has been proven over the years that students who have musical talent excel in academics. What are your thoughts on these being taken out of certain schools?

Its time they have a class devoted for determining one's aptitude which could go a long way in doing something with passion in later years. Today there is nothing but mugging to pass through.

It's an understatement to simply say that it's disappointing and unfortunate, because it's more like infuriating! It's a way to get young minds to the place where they are no longer to be creative and to think for themselves. If the creative arts become a smaller and smaller part of their lives, the end result will be a generation of people who will be existing at a robotic level...

In China,it is quite possible that children will be kept away from these unless parents want them to be stars in the future.
