Are we more humane to our pets than we are people? If an animals quality of life begins to suffer, we often put them to sleep. If a person begins to suffer sociaety forecs them to fight for thier life and prolong the suffering. What are your thoughts on this???

Pets are different than humans in this regards. If a human breaks his neck..A human can still heal and survive. But take a Horse with a broken neck. Its a totally different story. And the right thing to do is to put the animal down.

I agree, but there comes a time with prople too that there is no more you can do. If you are suffering and dying, it's just a matter of time shouldn't you be allowed the same courtesy we give animals... to be put out of your suffering and save your family from watching you become a vegitable???

I have mixed feelings about this. Well, I do think there are a lot of people who think more of their pets than they do of people and it does seem that there are more "animal rights" campaigners than there are "human rights campaigners" I think if a person wishes to die because they can not do anything but suffer, they should not be forced to carry on. The problem then is differentiating between someone who really is ready to go and someone who just can't cope and needs a little help.

I agree, but if a person is suffering and no longer wishes to suffer or put thier family through all the pain and suffering of watching them continue to suffer and deteriorate.
