Anyone heard of this show? its a t.v adaption of a novel written by Stephen King, about a small town that one day gets covered with a giant dome and get;s completely cut off the outside world.
The show started off strong but became more and more absurd as time passes, now I'm not sure why I ever watch it anymore, but I still like the idea
what would you do, if you were trapped with no way to communicate with the world? do you ever do feel trapped? Also is there anyone that read the book? I would love to know what the book is like, I assume its better

Lol :P People love to get misleading titles sometimes, I'm guilty of that as well. yeah I feel like the Novel must be amazing, and the start of the show was great, and then it took a really weird turn and became...eh.....not as good. probably ran out of source material

@Boonie1 i agree with you some people are very talented in writing , that is why a show was started with the idea of that book .

I haven't read the book either, its called Under the dome and I realized its a really long book with a lot of characters(over 1000 pages and about 30 characters) I'ts kind of a mystery book, can't get too specific since...again, didnt read the actual book

I've never heard of the show or the book. But I'll bet the book is pretty good, and is likely why the show started out good.. I don't think I'd like being under a dome, but I've always rather thought I'd love being a hermit..

@Boonie1 It might be ok later in the show, sometimes that happens, maybe a change in director or something.

First of all, the tv show is really bad. I mean, they changed the ending of season 1 to the ending in the book. I do not know the book but I do know that changing the ending was a spontaneous idea because season 1 was more popular than they had expencted and they did not want to end it after season 1.
I am hesitant to read the book now as I would already know most of what will happen.
Secondly, if I was stuck on such a situation... I have no idea. The only thing I would do is trying to communicate more with the rest of the world. In the series, the trapped people get to see their friends and family in 1 or 2 episodes on a bridge through the glass dome. Why did no one really communicate what's up? The military was there, too. Were people not allowed to ask the right questions?

yeah, I would of liked it better if they stuck to the original end and just try to reinvent it for season 2, in stand of trying to milk that story in a bad way
emmm from what I remember they couldn't talk because they couldn't hear each other, just write and read on messages on paper. and then the military closed the site and didn't let people near it. no real reason why, but logic would say that because they don't know what the dome is and what the effect of being near it is

I gotta agree with you. They wrecked it by trying to draw out the story. I loved the show. Still do, still watching it. But it has gotten pretty freakin hoky. Even the intro-sequence monologue from Big Jim, hoky, cheesy. What a shame.
Not sure how I'd handle being stuck in the thing. I like my space and freedom of movement. I think this would turn me in to a meniachal killer, like it has the characters on the show.

yeah, I kind of still watch the show as a guilty pleasure, for some reason its still fun but...man...it took a dive.
well, as long as you don't morph into an alien that really likes teamwork and bringing people back to life....and is a killer, its not completely like the show so you'r safe there
