It Has Hit The Fan

I wrote the other day that my friend was being taken advantage of by a lady who used to volunteer at our mental health drop in center. Well, things all hit the fan tonight. We are all at a conference at a resort in my state and this woman has caused so much drama and stress that my friend was physically sick from it. I also found out he DID loan her the $3,000 a few days ago! Tonight, he decided to tell Nancy (the woman who runs the drop in center) everything that has been going on. I went with him for moral support and we spent 2 hours where he told all. She was able to clarify a lot and show how the other woman had been manipulating and using him. Now the issue of just getting the $3,000 remains. I'm quite afraid she is never going to repay him. She's already posted on Facebook that he stabbed her in the back by choosing to sit with me instead of her during a presentation...I can only imagine what further drama she will cook up this weekend.

She is actually hanging herself out by posting about him on Facebook as that violates his confidentiality. He may not get his money back, but she may have her career ended.

I missed this update on the situation somehow. She sounds like she's completely unhinged. At this point, the best thing to do might be to document the abuse and harassment (screenshot Facebook posts, save text messages, let her leave voice mails instead of talking to her directly, etc.) and take it to the police. See if there's enough there for a restraining order, and if not, find out what it's going to take. I'd also suggest that your friend consult a lawyer.

Don't ya just "love" people like that? Yeah, I think he can kiss that $3000 goodbye. I bet he didn't get her to sign anything, and since he gave it to her he can't say she stole it.
