Jobs, Money and Motivation

I have to admit I never liked to work hard. I am a person who likes to live as simple as possible. However, making money requires time and some sort of work.
The only motivation for me to go every day to work is the salary. It is not much, but I need it in order to stay alive and social. I can hardly think about a job which would be interesting for me.
If you would have enough money, would you still be active? Would you still work for others? Would you start a business?

If I had enough money I wouldn't really be on the Internet, I suppose. I would live my offline life at a much higher intensity.

Cafes and pubs are usually profitable businesses, if they are placed in the right location and taken good care of them. I wish you to open one as soon as possible.

@fufurinha I can tell you from working in a restaurant and seeing how it's run, it's not easy by no means, but if you are smart and work hard at it, they can usually be successful and profitable.

So, you enjoy peace and calmness? That is something I strive for, although from time to time, I like crowds and noise.

Hi peter, it is a phase you go through in life when nothing seems important or interests you...many youngsters go through it.But you have to think of life beyond today and also changed circumstances.I would probably travel and always keep myself active and in touch no matter how much money I had ..

This phase has begun more than a year ago. Traveling is not something that could help, as it will never get on my fav's list.

:/ I feel you, I'm in the same place but just for a couple month. I think the only way to get out of that feeling is to actively seek something interesting. maybe working as an intern in something new you might like...or start your own thing and try to make money

Unfortunately, I am not in a position that I could be too picky. As for hard work, I guess I will never do that.

If I knew that I will have enough money until the end of my days, I wouldn't care about it, neither. I would be like you, most probably.

Are you asking if I would still be active on here? That would depend. With my last job I was working long, hard hours (10-12 hour days), so when I got home I would be too tired to get online.
Now if say I won the lottery, then sure, I'd still be here! This place is loads of fun! lol

Money can give us a lot of freedom and that is what I am striving for. One thing is for sure, if I had enough money, I wouldn't work for other people.

I'll probably still active in my current work even if I'm set for life. My view about this, not only do i want to be set for life when it comes to finances, I also want to ensure that my family and loved ones are financially secured as well so I will continue working to provide for them as well.

I guess you love what you are doing. Personally, the most annoying thing about being employed is that others tell you what to do. I hate that a lot.

@rappeter13 reminds me of an old adage, 'Find work that you love doing and you shall not work for a day in your life' or something close to that. LOL!

I would like to work for salary if the job was something I loved to do. I've tried my own business and so far have managed to make a little money to supplement my retirement, but I've decided I just don't have what it takes to make a living at it. I write for a few places, make beaded jewelry patterns and do my best to promote all my endeavors and thank God every day I don't go to work every day at a job that sucks the life out of me.

When Bubblews paid and the earnings were great, I had no great intentions to find a job. Unfortunately, the site has changed a lot and I had to be employed. But I am in a constant search for online opportunities which would give me more freedom.
Are there good sites which pay decently?

I would still be active on or around the internet trying to make more money. I have many things which I do, I'm a photographer and sell my work, I have a Etsy store and sell my products. No I would leave the internet behind for money I would still be here doing what I've done of the last few years.

Hello @rappeter13
Welcome back.
I dont want to sound egoistic or even anything else, but I work not because of the Money, but because I love to work. I have been a teacher all my professional life and today I work as a website consultant and developer too. Due to illness, I dont go to work instead I work at home. In 2008 I had been on bed for 8 long months, and that period made me realize that I am not meant to do nothing. I have to keep doing something or the other.
Years ago, when I was being interviewed for my first job, they had asked me would you still work if you had a million dollars in your bank account. That day, I had said No, I would enjoy life instead. Today, I have realized that I was wrong. and my enjoyment is my work.
I sense that you are unhappy with the work that you do and as such have the end result - Salary - as the only thing to keep you going. Maybe (and heartly wish that) I am wrong.

There are things in my job which I like and things that I don't. Currently, I cannot see a better option for me. But I like freedom over everything and that is why I said I wouldn't work for others. I am the type of person who gets annoyed by every single thing which I have to do because others say it, not because I want it.

I wouldn't be employed neither. I would probably do stuff which I like and some chores which must be done at home. Otherwise, I would be a lot outdoors.

You definitely want to start a business. A lot of people think it's more work owning a business but it is really not. You may find yourself doing less work or about the same amount of work as if you were an employee. I would look into finding a course on Udemy that teaches you a skill or job you can use to make passive income. The easiest and most dependable of these types of jobs at the current moment is Amazon FBA people have this broken down to almost a science. Check out this very interesting post on Reddit.com.

No I would not. If I have enough money I will do things I like and cultivate myself.
By the way, if you are interested in earning a small sum of money, I would like to introduce you an app Trymyapp. Only spending a few minutes on your iPhone or iPod IOS 7/8, you can earn money easily. If you are not interested, pls ignore it;
