I've heard that English is extremely difficult to learn as a second language. I think you're doing a fantastic job. I studied Spanish for 4 years in high school, and I'm nowhere near confident enough in my abilities to go on a Spanish forum and post. There's no way you can be the worst learner. You're here, aren't you?
I think you're going to find myLot is an extremely welcoming community. We have members from all over the world, and there are so many here who learned English as a second language. I've seen quite a few whose English has improved in leaps and bounds as they participate here. We'd love to have you here, too!

@ACETY5 My classes used a series of books called Somos Así. We started off learning the Spanish alphabet, and then progressed to greetings and building vocabulary and grammar skills.
I think the best thing that the classes did for me was teach me how to conjugate verbs. The teacher I had for years 2-4 was really focused on drilling us. We'd practice them every day, so the whole class was really good at it.
We'd start with the infinitive, then go from there like this:
estar: to be (feeling, located, or temporarily)
yo estoy
tú estás
él/ella/usted está
nosotros/nosotras estamos
vosotros estáis
ellos/ellas/ustedes están
We studied those tenses for two years, then moved into more complicated conjugations.
The site I'm linking to seems to be a pretty good resource for information on conjugating verbs in Spanish.
Other than that, I've found that practice is essential. I read a lot of Spanish-language books. That helped me learn a lot about the language.
Full verb conjugation table for estar along with example sentences and printable version. Over 1000 Spanish verbs conjugated.

English is a very difficult language. Even people who live here have a problem with it. You just need to practice and you'll get better.
