Why is this Jeans so preferred among many? Is it because it can be worn without wash for a prolonged period? How many of you wear Jeans during monsoon? Wearing jeans and getting them wet is so terrible. Incidentally, I have never worn nor am I likely to do it ever in my life. That is why I am asking this question.

My entire life, I had only two Jean (or Denim) Pants. I got the first one because I liked the color. Normally, here in India, wearing a Blue (lighter one not the Navy Blue for school dresses) colored pant other than denims doesnt go well. . So I brought one which really looked great with white shirts. I still love white shirts. The other one was a black Jeans pan gifted to me by my elder cousin. Lee had launched in local market and they were giving away these for almost a throwaway price that time - 299.00 INR. So it was something she could afford that time. I made the most of that one for sure. When I got bored of it (after using it for almost 7 years) I cut that full pant into half and used it for another 3 years. Can you get any thing (clothing specially pants) beyond denims that last that long And personally, I dont like clothes that are unwashed for many days at a stretch. Today, I only wear shorts, quarter pants with kurtas and tees when at home. And as I dont go out frequently, I have just two cotton trousers and two shirts to accompany them. Though there are a dozen shirts still with me.

Thanks Sid or that elaborate reply.I have been pretty busy at home and was not able to reply at all. But imagine how that 299 rupee Jeans has given its life out! Sometimes, some inexpensive item does so much of justice to the money paid that it is unbelievable.I cna well understand your choice of cotton trousers and kurta--it is terribly hot this year.

@kalav56 Never mind the delays. I also realized this delay as you were not so regular on Facebook during the past so many days. Yes, it has been terribly hot this year and even these past few days we are running at almost above 35 when it should be raining and we should be heading to winters.

@kalav56 Jeans have an interesting history. They are sometimes used as a fashion accessory now, but they originated as work clothes and were looked down up by people of elegance who did not have to do the kind of work that these clothes were suited for. In some parts of the USA they are still used as work clothing. The fabric is durable and protects the worker from the elements.

Oh 1 That is interesting. In our country this is a favourite with many youngsters.I agree that it is durable and longlasting ; to share a joke, I have always found the patchwork [as though ti has been mended] strange and my sister-in-law remarked " Oh dear sis! the more it is mended the greater is its value."

If you were born anytime after 1950 in the US, then jeans is your official uniform. They are just... the best. They go with everything, all colors, all occasions. And over time, they wear all nice and soft and comfy, become exactly the right size. Jeans are the best.

That is what many people say. Are you new to the site or did you have a different user name in the old site?

Hello madam, how are you. My elder son prefers to wear jeans mostly, I don't know the reason, but he is happy with jeans. He never wear the same without washing it for long time. He may wear two times without washing it, not more than that. In winter season it is suitable to escape from the cold. But in rainy season it is horrible.. I do not wear jeans.

When I was touring Bangkok everyone told me that I could get those manufactured in Korea there at a low price. I did buy a pair but never liked its feel. I found it too rough. It did not stetch with my movements. I do wear pants and that is my normal wear,

I too never felt that this dress was elegant; many people think it is most convenient.

Jeans were clothes for the common man, mainly farmers who worked in the field. The material was durable. That's what I remember and then one day – in my teen years - it was Calvin Klein and Gloria Vanderbilt , etc. wearing stylish jeans. Then jeans went from $7 to $70. With Tommy Hilfiger the price went even higher. Anyway … jeans are casual wear that everybody can get into – rich or poor. Now that they make them with the stretchy material, jeans are even more fun to wear!

If a celebrity wears an ordinary fabric then the fabric is no longer ordinary .
