I saw a dog with pierced ears today...

I work at a credit union as a teller. Today a car pulled up in the drive thru and I noticed the dog in the car, she was a golden retriever.. she was so cute. Then when the dog heard me talking she stepped over the owner in the driver seat to try to figure out where my voice was coming from... that's when I noticed the diamond studded earrings pierced into the ends of her floppy ears. I had to do a double take, because it looked so bizarre on a dog, especially a dog of that size. I could almost see it on a little lap dog, with a diamond studded collar or something.. but not a big golden retriever with no other "bling" anywhere in sight. I've never seen anything like this before. Personally, I don't approve. There's no need for a dog to have his or her ears pierced, and I think it's ridiculous to do so. They're pets, not dolls. All a dog needs is a leash, collar, and tag to show where he/she lives. What are your thoughts on piercing a dog's ears?

I've never seen a dog with pierced ears and I hope I never do. It actually sounds cruel to me and sooner or later that dog may find the earrings annoying and hurt itself trying to get rid of them.

I once saw a dog with eyebrows painted on it. I don't think we have a right to do such things even if we can call them our pets.

@Beatburn I agree, but at least painting eyebrows on a dog (or even dying it pink!) isn't painful and can't lead to long term injury.

Never saw one before...kind of cruel, I feel bad for him The weirdest thing I saw was a lady walking around with a stroller and a blanket...ok...she has a baby that's sweet. except when I looked at it it was a really small dog wrapped in there. she says she thought it would be nice to take him in the stroller and he liked it...and he refuses to go out without one for over 3 years. poor dog, he likes it but he actually doesn't ever walk outside...looked kind of like this but with a bigger stroller and a huge blanket

I think that's odd. I never heard of a dog having pierced ears before!
