Ugh, I'm Procrastinating

So I work from home as a freelance writer (on Textbroker and Zerys), and there is plenty of work for me on the job board(s). What am I doing? I'm procrastinating. I have a bad habit of doing that. :-/ I am leaving for my vacation either tomorrow or Friday (change of plans), and I am not planning to do any writing or blogging while I'm away. It's already been a slow week (on my end), so I really shouldn't be sitting around doing everything but writing. I also lost my main writing client last week, so I should take advantage of the work on the board while I can, because you never know when things are going to slow down. I'm being pretty stupid for someone who is going to lose several days of pay (I'm excluding the weekend because I usually don't write during the weekend anyways). I guess I'll continue to sip on my coffee, hope it wakes me up (because I'm pretty tired) and force myself to get some work done. You would think this client telling me to "keep up the great work!" would be enough. I'm grateful to work from home as a freelance writer....I'm just tired is all. Oh and by the way, if you recognize me from any writing/blogging websites, you're welcome to follow me. I already followed a few people I recognized, but I'm sure I missed some people. Anywho, I'm out. Take care and have a good evening, everyone!

Procrastinating is something I've very good at. I really struggle to do any serious writing because there are always fun sites available where I can earn a bit of money without having to write something long and complicated.

Right, or I wind up wandering around on Twitter or something because I'm not ready to start yet.

@Gina145 I chat with my friends on Twitter, and sometimes I get too far into the conversation and I'm like "Oh wait, I need to get to my work!" lol.

@tammys85 I know just what you mean. I don't use Twitter much but Facebook can eat a lot of my time because one of my friends shares a lot of really interesting articles.

Sometimes we really need to just slow down and enjoy the day as it rolls.

@SIMPLYD Right. But if I buckle down and get my work done, I can use the rest of the day to do a whole bunch of nothing lol. :p

Sometimes freelancing can be the hardest job because you have to really be your own boss and you have to push yourself when you don't want to. I know I don't have the discipline for it.

Oh gosh, I too struggle with procrastinating my homework and such. You just gotta face the fact that although you don't want to do it, it needs to be done. Push yourself to get it done and you'll feel so much better afterwards.

True that, and the quicker we complete our work/homework, the more time we have to just do whatever we want lol.

I can speak from experience that procrastinating is never good, but for writing especially sometimes you just need some inspiration to get you going, and that inspiration can be hard to find. I think it's very cool that you're a freelance writer! It's a job that I've been considering for myself for some time now... Would you recommend it?

@roomfortwo - I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try it. What I do is ghostwriting though, so the client doesn't put your name on it, but I do get paid for it. I just want to throw that out there. I write on Textbroker, Zerys and Writer Access; it's good to have more than one egg in the basket.

@tammys85 It must not be easy to do #freelancing, I know I couldn't do it.

It takes a lot of self-discipline, but anyone can do it. :)

I am a HUGE procrastinator. When I was in college I always always waited until the last minute to do an assignment. But I still usually did pretty good on it, especially when it came to writing an article.

I usually pretty good with it, but we all have our off-days. I just cannot afford to have too many of them right now.
