There are rumblings in the air

I hear the ferocious rumblings in the sky. The wind hissing like a serpent ready to strike. Dark clouds gather announcing an out pour. The sky trembles with lightening flashing angrily from East to West.
Will it rain? Or is it just a threat?
The birds seem to seek the safety of their nests. The dogs have gone away to some place quiet. The light flickers and goes off, I guess we will not have electricity for a few hours now. These thunder storms bring more harm than good.
Perhaps it shall pass away peacefully for often times all that thunders doesn't rain. Or it might hurtle hail in its fury.
Do you like thunderstorms?

Nature is good. It teaches us that not everything is good all the time as from time to time it strikes us with some disasters.

We used to play tag out in the rain. Those were some good old days.

Some thunderstorms are tolerable but not the ones that we have been reading so much destroying man and machine. I have so far not witnessed anything that bad although we did have a mini tornado which left behind things that needed attention.

@allknowing Yeah nature has two sides to her as we all do.. the harsh, terrifying, destructive and the beautiful, calm and awesome displays of nature. I love watching a thunderstorm.. My husband has to keep reminding me that they are not all that harmless as they seem.

@sofssu Watching a thunderstorm when it does no harm to us is fine but while you are enjoying it I am sure it would have affected others adversely.

@allknowing Nope I don't think so.. I never dare get out in such dangerous conditions.. I am out just when things are starting up.. besides I don't have a waterproof camera.. I guess hubby is more scared of thunderstorms than me.

@Rosekitty It's been storming here since I got up at 6 this morning. One cell will pass, and as soon as it does.. Another one blows in.

I am a big fan of lightening and thunder, and all the wonderful effects that go with it. Here in Texas, we need some of the effects of some soft, gentle rains.

I don't mind thurnderstorms as long as there is rain along with it. We have had lightning and thunder before, and not a drop of rain. Right now, here in Oregon, at least where i live, we are having a severe drought. The grass is all brown, and looks awful, but we have a water restriction so I don't bother watering it, as when fall comes, we will get lots of rain then.

@rosekiss I lie thunder storms too.. I just pick up,my camera and try to picture lightening.. but I hate hail storms.. those things destroy everything.. Its sad that you are having a drought right now.. Hopefully the grass will be greener soon and the lightening and thunder will bring more rain..

When I was younger I did, but now that I'm a little older, I am more aware of the many ways in which things can go wrong, so I find them a bit spooky! We had some real gushers this week.. but we really needed the rain and they were soon over.. Our dog hides.

I use to love thunderstorms. Now some of them cause me anxiety. the ones with strong winds. I have a hard time with those. God bless.
