Hobbies are things that we do for fun and relaxation but we can also earn from them.
I know some people who are earning extra for having a business that actually started with just a hobby. One very good example of it is writing/blogging.
Right now, I enjoy crocheting. I'm just making my works better and durable so this coming BER month, I could sell them as gift items.
What's your hobby? Do you make money with it?

Hi, I agree that one can easily turn a hoby into earning.I have an example in my own neighbor and friend who was seperated from her husband a few years ago , having the responsibility of looking after her 2 school going children and old mother in law. The only consolation was having a house of her own which was in her mother in laws name.Since she loved cooking and was good at it , she began supplying packed home cooked food to schools and offices and now it is a full time business for her with her mother in law too pooling in..

That's great! My mom used to do that. In my case, my co-workers like my Korean spicy rice cake. I already told them the recipe but they don't want to cook, lol. Maybe in the future, I'll accept orders.

@Shylambert Yes why not ? it also gives you a chance to experiment and better yourself in other dishes as well, thats what my friend does...earlier it was just vegetarian food, now she also supplies non vegetarian food which has brought in more customers.

I crochet as well, but as of yet, I have never thought of selling anything I make as I have made baby layettes mostly for new mothers in my church. I don't sell them as I give them as gifts, as that is my ministry to the church. I am thinking though, of crocheting items and maybe opening an etsy shop to sell them there, but right now, I am only in the thinking process.

@Shylambert I love to crochet, so that would be the ideal thing for me is to start and etsy shop. It might take awhile, but I just might do it. I have to get back to it so I would have items in there to sell. It is a great way to make extra money, which I can certainly use.

@rosekiss Good for you, ma'am. Here in Philippines, it seems like there is a bit problem with our delivery system. Some packages are lost on their way so I'm quite hesitant to open an online shop. Good thing, I know some people who have stores and I can ask them to sell my items.

Etsy shop! That's a good idea! In my case, I thought of crocheting so I could give cheaper items (with larger value) as gifts for Christmas. However, since I'm practicing a lot I thought maybe I could start a business as well. I know some people who are selling clothes so I can ask them to sell my items. I can earn, they can also earn. :)

There nothing best like earning from your hobby. My hobby is writing and yes I make money with my hobby. I work as copywriter on my company and hopefully in the future it can be my career at home. Crochet is getting more popular from day to day, I'm sure you can make good money with your hobby

Thank you! I need to practice more. I used to work as a copywriter, too. I hope in the future I could go back to writing, that time I hope I could write a novel.

@redvakaurvaki Same here. I'm quite busy with many things that I can't find time to write a novel. Good luck! I hope someday we can write a novel. :)

@Shylambert Writing a novel has become my dream too. I think I have to learn more to make it true! I often lose my focus

Wow! Good for you! I'd like to learn more skills and use them to earn money. I think earning (money) is a good reward of one's hard work.

You're right! However, we can earn extra by doing it. It's hard to rely on hobbies but we can earn extra from them.

My foremost hobby is annoying people and giving out sarcastic remarks. Too bad I haven't earned anything except the ire of others.
Good luck in your hobby and hope that you earn a lot! Perhaps, you can post a photo of some of your finished work here in myLot?

Whoa! You don't seem to be annoying right now but some people love sarcastic writing style and vlogs. I think they are good opportunities.
Soon I will share my (crochet) works here.

That's right! In my case, I was able to practice a lot in Postloop and Bubblews. Those were the days when MyLot was still sleeping.

Yup, our talents can be used to make money. My cousin loves cross-stitching, she sold some of her masterpieces for a reasonable price. My other cousin loves designing and decorating. She is making giveaways for birthdays, weddings and other occassions. My brother loves sketching, he is joining some contests on sites. And myself, I am earning posting to forums and revenue share sites.

DIY! I love DIYs. Yes! Personalize items are the best. Unfortunately, I could only make them as gift items not as item to sell. It's good that your cousin is earning extra from it.
