You are not crazy! This is what some call out of body experience or astral projection. Some people try to get to the point where they can willingly do so. Sounds like it happened for you by accident! Many consider it a gift. Don't be afraid if it happens again. I am wondering, where you aware of being in a dream when you were watching yourself sleep? Could you control your actions?
I have not experienced astral projection myself, but I have had unintentional lucid dreams, where I was aware of myself being in a dream and I could temporarily control what I did in that dream. I thought it was a very interesting experience. This reminds me, I'd like to try to get to the point I can willingly become lucid in my dreams and maybe peruse around my subconscious. Sounds like an adventure!

The explanation @Treesaver provided is the only one I've heard of for what you described. Sounds like an interesting topic to do more study on. I don't know anybody who can do this at will. You're definitely NOT crazy. It's a very common occurrence.

@joanreyes00 You are welcome! It took me a few to figure out where the follow button way, if you go to a persons profile, it's on the right of where their name and info showed up, but I have to scroll to the right, otherwise it's hidden from view. :)

What makes you scared? Is it the dreams or the darkness of the night? And what happened to you while sleeping?

I have had similar experience of watching myself sleep. In my case I was floating in the air, close to the roof, while I saw myself sleeping.
Another time I was sitting at the door, watching myself sleep (the days when I slept on the floor).
As rightly said by @Treesaver4future, it is because of astral projection. We all go on astral journeys while we're asleep, but we don't remember it. It was by chance that you did remember your astral memory.
In case you're curious, you could read about it here:

a sense of being outside your own body watching yourself is a very common dream subject. Nothing unusual and certainly not crazy.
