Jesus Christ (pbuh) is not the son of God. If you prove me that he is, then I'll leave Islam.

Many Christians say that how Jesus(pbuh) is not the son of God if we all are the children of God. If you read the biblical language, if you say we are children of God and Jesus is son of God then in that context meaning he is a person who follows the commandments of God, most verily all the messengers of God are sons of God. But the problem is if someone says he is not a normal son but he is a 'begotten' son then there is a problem. If you read the bible, The God has many sons like Adam, Abraham. Its mentioned in the book of Romans, Chap-8 "All those who are led by the spirit of God, they are sons of God" means if you follow the commandments of God you are son of God. It is mentioned nowhere in Bible that Jesus is a begotten son of God or worship me. Truth is God begets not nor he is begotten.

Tell you what, prove to me that Muhammad received word from God and that he wasn't just making stuff up or wasn't under some psychological delusion. Prove to me that this God, that God, your God or what ever God exists. You can't. You can't prove any of that any more than we can prove what you asked us to prove. Religion is a belief, not a demonstrable fact. Your religious belief is no more or less valid or provable than anyone else's.

@xfahctor how have you decided it by your own that I cant prove that Muhammad(pbuh) is the messenger of God and God does exists. I am a very logical person. And my faith is not blind. Though I cant prove it to you in a single small comment, its a long lecture of facts and I m afraid that you get bored and wont read. So I'll try my best to explain in brief. Suppose there is a machinery which no one ever seen in the world before, If its brought in front of you, and ask you that who will be the first person who will be able to able to tell u d mechanism of this machinery? Your ans may be the manufacturer or the creator of this machine. Now just keep this ans in the back of your mind. Now my next ques is how our universe did come into existence? any person with knowledge will say initially there was a primary nebula, then there was a big bang which gave rise to galaxy, the sun, the moon and the earth on which we live. And we come to know this about 30-40 yrs ago But this is already witten in the Quran (21:30), explained about big bang.1400 yrs ago. Who could have mentioned that? Next Ques: Light of moon is it its own light or reflected light? ans: Previously we thought moon has its own light, recently(100-200yrs back) we have come to know in science that its reflected light of sun. But this is already mentioned in Quran (25:61) 1400yrs ago. Who could have mentioned it? Next ques: Whats the shape of this earth? ans: its spherical, proved in 1597. But this also is already mentioned in Quran (79:30) That shape of the earth is like an egg of an ostrich. And the shape of its egg is geospherical. Who could have mentioned it 1400yrs ago? There are much more facts like this mentioned in Quran like sun also rotates in its own axis, Universe is expanding, about water cycle(in great detail), plants also have sexes, barrier between two types of water, mountains prevents the earth from shaking, about lifestyle of spider, ants, bee, There are more than 1000 of verses speaks about science. Who could have mentioned it 1400 yrs ago? ofcourse the creator, the manufacturer, and this manufacturer we muslims call him as Allah :) Muhammad was an illiterate person, do you think a common man under some psychological delusion can get all these scientificts facts just by spending sometime alone in a cave?

@xfahctor For persons like you who doubt the words of Quran, Allah has given you a challenge in Quran, I am stating it here for you : “And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Surah like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (if there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true. “But if ye cannot – and of a surety you cannot – then fear the Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones – which is prepared for those who reject Faith.” Al Quran (2:23-24)

I beg to disagree Yasmin. Your belief is your belief but it does not constitute the truth. Jesus is the only begotten son of God that is the truth and it will not changed whether you believe or not. Read John 3:16, 1 John 4:14, 1 John 5:20, Luke 1:35 to enlighten your mind.

@salonga Thank you for giving me the reference. I went through all: John 4:14 says: "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." It doesnt indicate that Jesus(pbuh) is the begotten son of God. John 5:20 says: "For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel." It also doesnt prove. In Luke 1:35 dont read the single verse read from Luke 1:28-35. You will get to know that Jesus(pbuh) was born miraculously without any male intervention. And I have already explained about John 3:16 in my comment to other users u can check.

John 3:16 says, that God gave his only begotten Son. Jeuss is the Son of God. Like others have said, you can't prove he isn't when the bible says he is. I don't want to argue about this, as you have your beliefs and I have mine. I am just saying that Jesus is the Son of God, alwaqys has been and always will be. I choose to believe what the bible says, and what it says goes.

@yasmin129 You need to underrstand that rsv, is not taken from the original kjv,as they got lost in translation. I choose to believe the kjv as it is the one I go by.I am a Christiasn by the way, and I will stick by what I said, and if you choose to not believe it,then that is between you and God. May God show you the truth that iis in the bible.

The verse you are quoting John 3:16 is from King James version. That "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Now when you read the revised standard version of the bible, revised by christian scholars of highest eminence backed by 50 different cooperating christian denominations, they say that this word begotten is an interpolation, fabrication, concoction. Who says? Not muslims, Not Hindus. This is said by Christian scholars of the highest eminence. Please do your own research that whatever I said above is right or wrong. May God show you the right path :)

@rosekiss I never said that I dont believe in Bible. In Quran Allah says that hw has revealed many books before Quran. By name only four is mentioned Torah, Zabur, Injeel(Bible) and the Quran. So I am obliged to believe in all of these books but should follow only Quran. But we are obliged to follow the original bible, but todays bible is a corrupted form of the original reveleation injeel. There are about 50 different versions of bible. Even christians cant unite upon a single version of bible. And all those books of God revealed before Quran was meant for a particular group of people and was meant to be followed till the particular time period. Prophet Muhammad is the last and final messenger of God and The Quran was final revealetion of God and was revealed to the whole of the mankind. And in Quran Allah has promised us that he will protect the Quran. And you can see the miracle of God there is only single original universal copy of Quran around the world. A single word of Quran never got corrupted. Take the sacred book of any religion u will get its many versions but u'll never get any 2 different versions of Quran.

It actually is in the bible, but there are versions in which the meaning has been lost in translation because they use phrasing like "one and only son" or "only created son." "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) "He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18) I'm curious why proving this point would make you choose to leave Islam. That's a really big decision to make. Or is it that you're so certain that it's not going to be proven true that you're not worried about converting?

@yasmin129 The contention actually arises over the wording in the original Greek of the New Testament and whether or not the Latin translation by the Vulgate was correct. The etymological background of the word, monogenes, supports that it means "only begotten," as does the fact that the word monos was typically used to mean "only" at the time when the original work was produced. If you really want to prove your point, you'd be better off using a primary source than a revision created centuries after the fact. Oh, and don't copy and paste the same comment on multiple responses. Not only is it against the guidelines here, it's incredibly disrespectful to those of us who took the time to write original responses to your discussion.
