The easiest way to get free stuff...

...is to be a kid. I'm constantly amazed at the number of freebies my kids score on an almost-daily basis. We just walked over to the grocery store to pick up some things for the week. While Kid 1 and I were picking out some grapes to take for her classroom snack tomorrow, she wondered what they tasted like because she's never had black grapes before. The produce guy standing near us swooped in and gave her a sample to try. We headed over to the deli counter, where they were offered samples of cheese. Then we walked past the bakery, and they both got cookies. And if that wasn't enough, while we were checking out the cashier at the next lane gave them stickers and a manager came by with balloons for each of them. It's like there's something about those cute little faces that screams "give me stuff!"

When my kids were little, the deli clerk at every store we went to would give them a free slice of cheese while making up my order. Everyone is a sucker for a cute little face.

The stores only do that on certain days when there are promotions going on. I like going to stores on those days. makes kids fill up on bite size snacks to hold them over while I run errands.

There are free samples given out at Walmart periodically. They only do that to get me to buy what they are offering. Some of it is good, and some of it isn't. I have boufght some of what I felt was good, and those I didn't like, I just walked away. Most of the time, I just walk past the free samples, and I don't try any of them, as I don't want to have to buy something I may not need.

I agree with you. The kids might get free biscuits or candies in the playground while others are having the snack too.

I am a bit too old, but I may perhaps rent a kid to get some freebies when I do some shopping?
