Do you know the truth about Christmas and Easter?

If you're a true Christian and love the Lord and want to please Him, you'll never celebrate these pagan traditions again. I never will and best of all, neither will my children or grandchildren. I've sold or thrown out all my decorations and my entire life has changed.

I do kniow where they came from, and I am a christian as well. My family amd I do give gifts on Christmas, and we also have a tree. We don't however celebrate Easter. I feel that it is up to each indivivual whether they want to clelebrate them or not. I applaud you though, for taking a stand.though.

I choose the Messiah because He's a God of choices. He want's us to choose Him. His will is not to force Himself on us. I choose to follow Him and be like Him, so, I'm all about people choosing to believe and follow the path they choose. I hope and pray to share the truth with facts and history and others can take it from there. I don't wish to force my belief on anyone, I used to think I had it right for years after I converted from being an atheist to a Christian. I pray people don't follow me, that they only learn to only follow God. This video changed my life. Not only mine but also the lives of my family for generations to come. I have to tell people though that Jim Staley was just sentenced to prison for fraud. However, I believe that whatever he did in the past has nothing to do with facts, history and Gods word about pagans and paganism.

@PrarieStyle That is great that you are a Christian. I am one as well, and I also follow Jesus, as I love him very much. I am waiting for his second coming. What a glorious day that will be.

I can see that Jim Staley is a shining example of how Christians should be living their lives.

I am fully aware of the origins of those dates, but cannot see what the problem is. The Eastern and Western doctrines agreed on 25th December as the day to celebrate the birth of Christ in an attempt to draw Christians away from the festivities involved in Sun worshipping at the time. Obviously it would be impossible to assess an accurate date, so it should not really matter what date you choose to celebrate the event. Many dates have become confused over the millennia due to inaccurate records and the change of calendar systems. It is now believed that Christ was actually born in 4 BC by our calendar, but I will not be considering using 2019 as the present date.

@PrarieStyle It seems quite a bold claim for you to state what God wants. We must remember that the Bible was written by men, so taking every word literally is accepting the interpretation of someone else. As for the commandments, there were introduced as a stepping stone towards Agape, just as "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" was. It would have been quite impossible to tell warring tribes millennia ago to simply love each other, so it was taken in stages. Since we have no way of knowing the precise date, which would then need to be converted to coincide with our current Gregorian calendar, the only available options are to either select a date to celebrate or cease celebrating Christmas altogether. I can understand your objection to the modern traditions of Christmas decorations and fairy lights, but see no reason to object to the religious aspect of Christmas. Would you condemn the Pope as being heathen for making his Christmas speech?

I am a christian and do know the real meaning of Christmas and Easter but see no problem celebrating. My son is a minister and he and his family also celebrate these holidays.

Just celebrate the way you do. Let us just wait till the redemption comes, so we will know who is right , you or me , a Roman Catholic Faith defender.

Hmmm, seems like a video I don't care to watch. Or maybe I just don't have the time. All I know is they just based some Christian holidays off of pagan ones. Hey at least it's like a culture integration or something. Much like how people say nothing is original in this world and that what has happened before is happening or will happen again and some such.

I don't celebrate Easter, but I do celebrate Resurrection Sunday. We also know about where these traditions stem from and have taught our children about them since they were young. We never gave gifts from santa claus and endeavor to speak the truth in love. You can be a true Christian, love the Lord and celebrate anything regarding Jesus Christ.
