First, I apologize for not getting to everyone's discussions this week. I have found since the eye surgeries I'm having trouble looking at a screen for long. So last I updated you guys they had to do a second surgery to go in to the left eye to "clean" things up (get rid of inflammation...). So I went in on Friday to see if the clean up had worked. Well, guess what? I had a piece of tissue stuck to my iris that needed to be removed. He was going to make it this coming week, and I know I gave him the most depressed look he's probably ever seen. I said, can we just do it now (his regular office is attached to the clinic with the operating room)? I really couldn't fathom making another 2 hour round trip to and from the office. So he cleared some time, and had them take me to the OR. And it hurt just as bad as it did when they cleaned it out the night before. I really don't think they get that the amount of eye drops used for other's eyes needs to be doubled on me.
The initial surgery, when they did my right eye, they used minimal numbing drops. For some reason, my left eye doesn't respond in kind. So after it was done, my dad drove me home. On the way home, he got several calls and several times I heard him say, "Well, you know, Amber, if something bad can happen to her, it's probably going to." I was like, "Thanks, Dad."
The doctor called me Saturday afternoon to ask if I was better. I said a little, but the left eye is still blurry. He wants me to call him in the morning if it is still that way. He also had me increase the amount of steroid drops I'm using. Right now, I think it's better. It doesn't hurt, which I'm grateful for. But when I try to read, it's almost like my eyes cross. Having done research, this shouldn't worry me unless it continues for more than 2 weeks. Fingers crossed my left eye gets with the program and behaves!
Also, I'll catch up on the posts you guys have done as soon as I can. Thank you for the prayers and encouraging words. I appreciate them!

I try not to presume to speak for others, but I think it's safe to say that all of us will be more than happy to wait as long as it takes for your eye to heal. Your health is a lot more important than catching up with posts here, much as we may miss you. Take it easy, do what you need to do for yourself, and we'll all be right here when you're ready to come back to us.

It is great that this surgery is behind you now. You take your time reading online, you do not want to undo what the doctor has done for your eyes. In time you will get around to everyone's discussions, I just know that you will. In the meantime, I realize that there is not a lot that you can do while you rest and relax and allow your body to heal, but that is what you have to do. Take care and we'll see you when you are back to tip top shape and partake without endangering your eyesight.

I am glad the pain is better. I do hope the eye clears up really soon. I can't believe there was a tissue stuck to your iris! Geez!
