Why Do So Few "Americans" on myLot Want Us to Know Their City & State?

It seems like so many myLotters from the United States only put "United States" as their location. That's frustrating for me (ALSO living in the 'United States') as--to me--it's like someone telling you they live "on Earth."
I want to know who else is from 'Oklahoma City' (or wherever) when I see other members' locations (beside their names atop their posts here)! ... arrrrrgh!![](/Content/images/emotes/angry.gif)

I do not give the name of my city, because nobody would know where it is located in France, although it should have been famous, as it was the first name given to New-York.

But it's "in France." You and anyone else 'in France' are practically neighbors (sharing relatively the same weather, yeah?)
I don't feel that way about 'me and anyone else in the United States!'

@mythociate It is a small country but the weather is not the same everywhere. I prefer to live in the South than in the North

@topffer Maybe (if you want discussions to be 'local' ... not saying you do) you could 'check the box on your Settings' and name your city "South" (or "North, West, East, Central," or any combination of the five).

I know that 'no one is trying to FIND any of us.' (I say that and am instantly reminded that 'there's always SOMEBODY out there trying to get your info to scam your treasure-trove away from you
')
And 'the city you live in' isn't anywhere near 'enough to know everything about you.' Sure, some people can use it & a few other things to ... hypnotize you into giving-up the nuclear-codes ![](/Content/images/emotes/w00t.gif)

@mythociate Hi Harry Jude, I am Kimberly Cass and I live in God's country; "Canton, Pa Bradford County. I do understand why some people want to stay private. It's become a very scary world out there. But me well I have the God who created this world and the universe with me so I am not afraid to be open;)

I'm not really that interested in city and state or wherever. It's the Internet and it's like you're in the room with me talking.

If you want to display it like I display mine, I think you have to check the little 'display city & state' box in your "Settings" ![](/Content/images/emotes/niceday.gif)
