Hello everyone, I just cleaned my drawers since i have nothing else better to do and i have to clean up my life a bit. I spent the entire morning sorting through paper and projects... And i am not even done yet, i think it will take me 2 more days to clean everything, maybe even more. I've got papers from my kindergarten years up until my college years. They are quite heavy and dusty. I know that most of those stuff are of no use to me anymore, but some of them have sentimental value. Like the projects that have my family's picture, or those where i wrote poems, letters and dreams, and also where my dad drew a picture of mother for me... I guess i'll be keeping them I just hope i have the courage to throw away those other stuff, i am such a hoarder. What abut you mylotters? been cleaning up lately?

I regretted throwing some stuff away, especially old papers and stuff like that. I am guilty of hoarding! I am in the process of unpacking from my latest move. Sometimes it's like Christmas because I "find" all of this cool stuff that I haven't seen in years!

@Butchcass4. It might be nice to keep children's school papers together, sorted by child. You could make an album to put them all in. It doesn't have to be fancy. You could use cardboard for covers and construction paper and rubber cement to attach items to each page. When the children get older, you could give it to them. It is my opinion that people in their twenties may not fully appreciate it. If I had children, I would wait until they were 33, about 1/3 of a century old to share it to them. It may also be fun to give it to them when they had their own children who were old enough to enjoying looking at it with their Mom or Dad.

@flpoolbum When my sister's eldest son was born, which was on the weekend, I bought a Sunday paper to save for him. I didn't give it to him until his late 20's. By then, he had two kids. I mailed it to him. I don't know if he like it or not. His sister thought that it was cool. Loving history, I would have loved it.

Sharing your regret makes me just want to keep everything that's stored that was my childrens school work and baby things. Some day I'll have to go through it all and I hope I make wise choices that I won't regret later. Thanks for sharing

We just did a big purge here. It was easy then because we were tired and didn't want to deal the stuff but later we are beginning to wish we hadn't gotten rid of a lot of it.

@lady1993 -- We were at a point where the more thrown out the better chance of us ridding ourselves of bed bugs So we heaved a lot.

that is unfortunate, since if it is thrown away, you can never get it back. that is why i double check what i am about to throw away, i even ask my mom and dad if they will use it.

you should.. before the pile of things get even bigger. i actually regret not doing it sooner, it should be done every year...especially if one is still a student - since there are tons of projects

Yep, I clean my room about every month....and I really do a good job. I find all kinds of old stuff from the past in my drawers too....I can never bring myself to throw any of it away, so I just keep storing it . Hey wanna see my room? Right here: P.S. Mr MyLot, I'm not breaking any rules by posting that discussion link. I just want her to see my room. I know you'll let this one slide. Here, I'll put the hearts up for you. Now I can do whatever I want. Thanks.
Okay, so I worked on it all weekend. Lots of redecorating, reorganizing, and.....LOTS of scrubbing. [em]thumbup[/em] Does it remind you of being on vacation?...

I'd say, you preserve anything, or everything from the past, which makes you nostalgic. nostalgia, is one feeling which pretty much takes it off your heart at times.

haha, we are a bit the same, but we have to let things go sooner or later, or we will not have any space for new things to come.

Cleaning stuffs is my way of life. I've been doing it and it doesn't stop there. The best thing is that I have extension hands helping me a lot.
