How Safe Is Your Place?

Hi @LadyDuck - it's me, SmilePie! Anyway, I live in Los Angeles - there are many pockets of "safe" and "unsafe" out here. Where we live, I can feel relatively safe, but I keep an eye on my kids at all times - I don't think I'd want them walking around on their own quite yet - especially at night!

I too don't like going out of our neighborhood's place at night , walking alone . But not when we are travelling in a car . I feel that it's not safe at night to be roaming around alone.

I feel pretty safe here, but I do lock my doors. I would go to a store at night by myself, but I don't think I would walk around the neighborhood. I doubt anything would happen, but you're better safe than sorry.

The area where I live has very little crime. The area where I work has a lot of crime.

I live in Kendari, capital of South east sulawesi province, one of province in eastern indonesia.. thanks to God, until now i feel safe here..even more days, the crime is increasing i think..sometimes i feel unsafe when going to home in midnight..

I feel pretty safe but that being said, I am always cautious and aware of my surroundings. Like you, I never go out alone at night.

It may seem a rat6her strange response, but such considerations have never really concerned me. In this day and age there is no guarantee of security when walking through a busy shopping area mid afternoon, which makes worrying about such factors as rather futile. I would usually feel quite comfortable about walking through a rural or secluded area during the night.

When I was growing up, everyone thought of my town as very safe. I don't think it is as safe now, there are more people and a lot of changes. It's not a crime-wave going on or anything, but i wouldn't walk alone at night as I used to do when I was young.

About 97% safe. Crime in our neighborhood is nearly non existent, but you still don't take any chances. I'm sure we've all heard the news reports about those safe, quite little neighborhoods where nothing bad ever happens until one fateful day.. We are that neighborhood.

Life in a village kind of a place is much safe - just because most of the faces are well known. Unfortunately not so in a bigger place. I used to feel safe when I was at home. But since the burglary a couple of years back, I am scared about that too. Today, I dont drive and normally don't go out (due to health issues), but as you know, going out cannot be avoided. And trust me, today I fear walking on the roads, forget the driving. The people just dont seem to bother or even think that if they hit anyone, even their life may be at risk. I completely agree with you when you say, it is better not to tempt fate.

I never worried about that .I never go out after 10pm .but stolen happened frequency .bicycle is disappear often

I live in a small town, there is some crime but not much. I try to use common sense when I am away from home.

Unfortunately here in our country there are only a few places that are really safe. Knowing what these places are and avoiding places that are notorious at night is the only solution.

my place is safe , however crowd is more. More populated and hot region

I live in a big city. Its not safe after twilight to be alone in some parts of the city. I am cautious like you in venturing outside.

I am from a small town in India.Yes,I can say we are safe here.My town is famous as the most peaceful town in the state.Of course,crimes do occur here,but rarely.People are peace loving.

I have always felt safe wherever I have lived but a person has to have some sense at night and alone.

I do feel safe where I live. I may walk a short distance at night by myself. It was occasionally a necessity when my parents were alive they needed me sometimes in the middle of the night.

Even the situations in village were like that?don't know when we are going to change our societies
