My Apple Tree Has Apples

This is the first time in years that my apple tree is covered with apples. I am starting to think ahead to all the great things I can do with them. I have thought about an apple upside down cake and maybe an apple galette. I am open to suggestions. Since it is getting near to fall, I think there must be a lot of things I could bake. Help me out!! By the way, they are Macintosh apples.

@BelleStarr I don't mind making crust, but sometimes it's annoying to get everything all covered in flour, etc and I want to have something quick. Bisquick has a very nifty little apple crumb thingamabob that is sort of like an apple cake or pie but the crust makes itself. You put the apples and spices and sugar in the bottom of the pan and mix up like 1/2 cup bisquick with some milk and eggs and pour it over the apples. I haven't made it in a long time but everyone loves it when I do. And it only takes a couple of apples, too.

@Rollo1 That sounds a little like my mothers Swedish apple pie but without Bisquick, you add all the individual ingredients.

@BelleStarr An aeble is an apple, and skivver means slices. So, you would think that aebleskivver would be apple slices, but it's not. Basically, it is kind of like a Danish pancake except that it's round and originally they were made with apple slices or bits of apple in the middle. You use an special pan that has rounded holes and you pour in the batter and put the apple in and then as it cooks you pick it up andf turn it over with a knitting needle, which makes it come out round instead of flat like a pancake.

I have two apple trees at my old house that were always full with apples. I never really took full advantage of them for baking or smoothies. You could make apple crumble, apple pie, apple sauce, apple cake and apple smoothies. Sorry that these are really unoriginal suggestions.

That's awesome! I've always wanted an apple tree. I'd have apples everyday for snack! Apple pie and dehydrated apples would definitely be at the top of my list of things to make with them.

I did make several apple crisps and a galette. I don't think that we wasted many apples. it was a good harvest.

@BelleStarr I haven't made a homemade crust since I took Home Economics in school. I usually cheat and use a frozen one from the store
