I was pleased with the way my classes went today. The ancient computer (12 years old) that is hooked up to my data projector (8 years old) and the speakers I found in the back of a cabinet (age unknown) actually worked, connected to the internet, and ran the online lesson I wanted to use to introduce the 5 themes of geography to my students. They enjoyed the video and the interactive activities that accompanied the lesson. I was able to complete the entire lesson, and the interactive quiz, with all three classes, though I did have to rush a bit with my morning class. Tomorrow we are doing a lesson on map reading and map making. The students will get to draw their own island and map out what features they want it to have. I think they will enjoy doing that.

I like the idea to ask the students to draw their own island. This is an interesting project.

I'm hoping most of it will be replaced with new as I've been promised.
