Hi Mylotters,
Do you post everything in social networking? especially of what you have now a days most people do that even me but I restrict myself of posting about valuable things I have because it might trigger something not good we never know who are in our friends list even you are in private settings there are way that still someone can see what you are posting on your social networking account.
Like what happened to one of my neighbor she keep on posting her luxury accessories, gadgets, trips and even the money she make from her gigs and side lines, she was out of town for a week when she comes back everything is missing that’s so sad but if you check her account she posted everything she had and where she is so they said that maybe someone who knows her do that because she is bragging everything on her account. I pity her but people here said that it’s her fault though no one wants to be robbed.
happy mylotting

@bhabycatch013 We can't stop others from posting anything, but won't encourage our friends to do that

I don't post a whole lot on here. I do post pictures of my nieces and nephew when I'm with them and doing events so their parents can see the pictures when their not with us. I keep my post to a minimum on facebook etc and on these sites I try not to post a whole lot either.

hey Bhaby
I normally dont post anything on social networks. Oh, I exist only on FB and MyLot. At FB, there is not much and I post very rarely. And on MyLot, well, it is quite okay to post but still there are several issues that I will never post anywhere. I know where to draw the lines.

@bhabycatch013 And these are the people who suffer because of this act of theirs. I remember reading a news (on local newspaper) that mentioned a burglary in someone's house happened because they had updated their status stating they would be out of town for 15 days and had even gone to the extent of sharing their exact movements. The one who was behind the burglary had kept track of each of their updates and committed the crime just a day before their arrival.
This is just one incident. I also know a person who is on the verge of a break up just because of his updates on FB.
I wonder why people do get so open on the Social Sites.

@bhabycatch013 maybe she is a bragger.... she could have kept quiet.. although I know for some that these are achievements.
I post pictures of where I went because I would like to share the culture to the people back home.

video about social media experiment.
In social media, users can send private messages, pictures or video wall to another user. The walls can be seen by everyone, while messages can only be seen by the sender and the recipient, such as e-mail. If it's not someone we trust to hold a secret, like family, lover, or friend, it is better not distribute them to the public.
Using the power of Social Media, I FREAKED PEOPLE OUT by making them think I knew personal information about them! Join the Vale Nation? http://bit.ly/JoinVa...

What i see people in facebook, they like to post everything including what happen in their lives, even husband and wife quarell also the wife go post. What i dont like is, change religion also want to post in Facebook then i can read all the bad comments. It is not good post the luxury or valuable things on Facebook, too show off or just to get many likes, it really bring danger to own self. When go travel, better post the pic or status after go home. Later people know that nobody in your house.

I have nothing of value to take. So I guess that is a plus of being somewhat poor.

That's so irresponsible decision of her to post all about her assets. Nowadays I too see many of my contacts on social networking sites to do the same. I can never imagine sharing such personal details on the net. Who knows that someone is spying or not. I hope people are bit more sensitive with us issues and be careful and not divulge all details in the way of bragging.

@bhabycatch013 Your point of view is correct . I have very few trusted friends in FB .. moreover I do post rarely .. We should also have update the liked pages and group now and then .. In total we have to keep our profile updated ..

I seldom use my FB account and I'm very cautious in posting about things or what I am doing on facebook, I seldom update status and photos as well. On twitter, I am active because I tweet about mylot or my other writing gigs. or about quotes or bible verses.

Totally agree with you,, people these days are busy showing off their lives on social media, that there won't be day when you will see a status saying " I am breathing " :).
They don't understand the fact that how they are endangering their lives by posting private things about their lives.

I am very cautious when it comes to posting anything on social media and especially on FB. I generally resume myself to posting articles I have written on several sites or some interesting quizzes I find on the web and that's it. I seldom post new pictures and I definitely try not to brag about anything I do. I prefer to be more secretive about my life in general even to the people who are in my FB friends list.

I'm sorry to hear that, but she actually made trap for her self. She is responsible for that. I don't really like post personal stuff on social media. Oh well, perhaps when I was new on Facebook I posted some silly things ( when I was young ), but these days I only use soc med mainly for blogging purpose. It's weird how people fond of using social media to show off.

I am very opinionated. I don't post things I do during the day and such, but I do go ahead and post things on topics that I am very fond of; health and wellness and corruption.

The fact is we need to be very careful. The external world is basically stranger so we should not be so open about ourselves on social networking.

Also people don't always understand privacy settings. Who all can see this? What if they share what you posted, so that people you don't know can see. It's a fine line for sure.
