We all are having a job. but have you ever thought that you will be doing the particular job what you are doing currently?. many of us couldn't achieve the preferred jobs due to internal and external reasons. in my case, since my childhood i was dreaming about becoming an engineer. but after completion of my schooling i could not go for graduation since i had to face lot of problems. i had to take responsibilities of my family.thus i got into my first career that i didn't like. it was an unenviable task for me. but for the sake my family i had to do it though i like or not!.but still i'm dreaming about to become an engineer. is there anyone like me around here? :) . do you think is there alternative option for this kind of people?..

Right now, I am a stay at home mom. If I don't love the job, it is hard for me to work unless it pays a lot. I refuse to work for minimal wage for a job that I just can't stand. I love being a stay at home mom even if it doesn't pay actual cash.

may be. happiness depends on the opinions we got in our mind. but my dream job doesn't let me to sleep at all. actually i'm trying to do part time engineering courses if it is feasible for me. and what did you want to become actually before you getting married?

@chatterboxboy When I was 15 I wanted to be a truck driver. I had a guy that was going to take me on as a partner as soon as I was old enough which here would have been 17. But I ended up getting married so that was the end of that. I wanted to be a truck driver because I loved to travel but knew I couldn't afford it.

If you have a dream, go after it. I had too many dreams and choices and so have worked at a variety of jobs but have not really had a career.

Perhaps you can pursue further education part time or online and still realize your dream in the future.

There are many people in such a position as you.In my own case I did a training course for Reserve Bank and then I got married and had to move away which meant I had to resign the job. Then followed kids and later had to take up teaching which was not my choice but because it fitted in with my childrens' schedule. But over a period of time I have begun to like what I am doing and trying to better myself and give out my best !

Many people end up in a job they did not envision for themselves do to circumstances beyond their control. That does not necessarily require that they give up their dream. There are many ways to continue your education. Many classes can be taken online and some may be taken at times that you are not working. Don't let your dream die however. You can succeed at it and give an even better life to your family.

It is true sometime you must take first the responsibility of your family rather than to choose you own wants in life...but it is not to late you must pursue what you want and someday you can achieve it..believe in your self that's the secret of many ..

Lots of people really don't enjoy their jobs, as it is just a means to an end. If you are able to get a job doing what you love and are good at, you should if it is feasible. I have had a lot of jobs, but not one that I could say I loved.

Are night school or weekend classes an option for you to finish your engineering studies? My dream in junior high was to become a writer. In between then and now I have been a custodian, a soldier, a ski area night operations manager, an exterminator, a college student, and accountant, and a teacher. But at age 47 I finally became a published author and now have 5 novels. My advice is to not give up on your dream, but find a way to make it happen.
