I was raped alot and hurt physically when I was 22. I'm 30 now and the memories are still strong. They get triggered by little things. How do I erase them?

You never do, but if you talk about it. It helps. It gets easier, but never gos away. If you help others, that helps to.

I normally use the past as a university....always learning. However, once it is past all the ugly things are forgotten and I put more effort into remembering all the happy things. If for some reason I thing of something awful, especially when I'm trying to get to sleep, I just imagine a tropical island with the breezes blowing softly through my hair, or I see a rowboat rocking gently on the rippling waters. Helps me every time.

i think you'll have to fill your memory with nice things, experience. confide your feelings/emotions to a friends so that you can be relaxed. there's no proper way of forgetting the past but you will have to move on for your own good. i think everyone had been devastated with their past but if you keep thinking of that you can't enjoy life...
