I do not see the benefit of it. I feel all responses are the best Kiran.

@TiarasOceanView I had forgotten about it and today as I was going through some old discussions I suddenly came across a BR I had received ..., it seems like from a different era !

Yes, I do remember about that feature. There were confusions over the same whether we get money on getting a best response. Some said it won't affect earning and some said yes, it does. Still the mystery is not cleared. However, I felt happy on getting a best response irrespective of its earning opportunity. It gives mental pleasure for sure. Hope that feature will back soon.

Oh yeah, those were the days... haha. It would be fun to have that option back. Just an added incentive.

@owstalaga To start with it was good when we had to submit articles which was interesting but later it became highly complicated with everybody joining in !

@owstalaga Most members are not for it though...I wish they had some tasks like before when your earnings suddenly jumped up..I remember once I got 3 dollars for a task and I was counting cents to qualify for the payout that month and getting the bonus right then was really thrilling !

@PhredWreck Yes I agree it should be the one who started the discussion , who should also choose the best answer..

@kiran8 Sounds like that almost Interactions cannot really be rated some are humorous and make us laugh while others are serious too the point while others seem to be educative.. but each serves a purpose how do you rate them.. Sound unfair to me. Also did the best rated comment fetch and extra reward? I am curious.

Thanks for reminding me of the option.I was in old Mylot.I remember what we had then. But I had forgotten the option of choosing the best response. You reminded me.Thanks again.I agree with you that this version of mylot should also have this feature.

This feature caused quite a few issues in the old days.
I used to apply the same approach of only selecting one if it stood out from the rest. Of course many people chose personal friends irrespective of the quality. It was also difficult to decide when to choose one.

I guess to a certain extent you do favor a member because of some personal reason although I honestly tried my best to be as impartial as possible and thats why I hardly gave out may be around 40 BRs among the 300 odd discussions that I had posted ...

I remembert that too, and I used it, but not a lot. I don' think that is necessary, the way we do things here now. To me, all responses are good and they all deserve best responses. I just like the fact that we can interact a lot in here, and that is where the fun comes in. To me, it would be boring, just to have someone respond to a discussion, the discussion starter comment back, and that would be it. That is the way it used to be, but now that mylot wants interaction, they are getting it.

@kiran8 You are right that it isn't needed the way that mylot has changed things. Ithinkthat is a good thing, as it was hard to give best response, when their sometimes more than one person that deserved to get it. I like the fact we don't have to worry about it now. We either like the posts or we don't, simple as that.

Oh yah, I forgot about that! I'd have to say no - only because some people might play favorites and some might get bent out of shape that they didn't get picked. It's really all in fun, but you know some people take it a bit seriously.

@kiran8 That is true too! Long ago I used to be with Yahoo Answers - and the best answer picked there was not necessarily the correct answer, especially if it were a technical question (sometimes people just picked their friends). The bad thing about that is it would show up in search engines and people would take some of those answers as fact when some of it was actually wrong - so that was a bad thing! But I think in our minds here, we know who gave the best response.

People will differ and you can mark the best and not so good or anything like that only when the parameter is fixed because thinking has no limit.

Ashish, it was there before when the person who started the discussion choose one post as the Best among all... I guess it was just an incentive to add quality posts but now it does not seem to make sense since the whole perspective here has changed..

Now that you mentioned, I remember that too. I tried to choose the best response after a certain time after the discussion has started. I tried to choose the response which is more related to the discussion. I remember reading that it's good to choose the best response, so I did.
I don't think it's good to have that option, as we are here to discuss but not like the question and answer kind of discussion, so we need not choose the best answer.

Well, it would only make things more confusing to me. There were times when I was literally in splits on which one to mark as the BR. But yes, that marking was supposed to be an indication that the discussion from the OP has been closed as the Best Response has been given. So after that point, even if the OP did not respond back to the other new responders, it was all okay.
On the new MyLot, there are already too many things that can be fixed/improved upon. I know that and so for now, it does not matter because it might just be asking for more confusions and complications.

Not going into any controversy I would say I loved that option. It felt great to receive a BR and I agree with you, and I too awarded a BR to the one who gave the best and to the point response.
